Home Button on Left or Right?

Neither. The middle is perfect for use in my left or right hand.

it depends , like it orientated towards the right as it feels abit more unobstructed to me.

True, but user and game dependent applies to every device.

this quirk is specific to the iphone/ipod because

a) accelerometer swicthes the orientation of the display
b) the iPhone doesn't have any physical buttons besides the home button

If the iphone had a gamepad on the left side and the home button on the right side, everyone would hold it with the home button on the right


Holding an NES pad there is really only one way to hold it

Is this specific to iPhone? On the iPhone, the headphone port in on the top left. On the iPod touch, the headphone port is on the bottom right. So depending on which device the user has, their preference will change because the headphone is in different corners of the device. I prefer the home button on my iPod because the headphone port will be on the top right, unobtrusive to my fingers. On my Dad's iPhone, the home button would be on the left, the headphone port on the top right.
