I just sent a message to “my wife” and the HomePod got it right. I do restart my devises after updating. Sometimes that fixes things. Or a hard restart.

That is interesting. Just to be clear, you rebooted your HomePod and it worked? Here's hoping because every time I have followed suit from you, I had the same result!
[doublepost=1567712830][/doublepost]I rebooted two of my HomePods and my iPhone. I tried to message my wife on the HomePods, my iPhone and on a Mac. No dice here.

On my iPhone and Mac, Siri responds "I don't see 'daughter/wife/etc' in your contacts, what is your daughter's first and last name."

On HomePod, Siri responds "I am not sure who your 'daughter/wife/etc' is, but I can help you set relationships here." Ironically, I cannot figure out how to ask Siri for that help.

I think I just figured out why Siri is having problems with my relations. I just discovered that the one's who's middle name is included in their contact name fail but the one's that are just a first name and surname work. So strange.

Confirmed. When I manually delete the loved one's middle name but keep their first and surname, it now works.

Please report it, that’s a good find!!
