If you go into it knowing the tech specs, the system is solid and polished. No issues so far.
 
It's not like a first generation product, it's in its own category altogether... something new. Other than OS 4, I don't see it lacking anything.
 
It reminds me of the 1st gen iPod touch. Missing core apps that the iPhone had and really bare bones, in a way. Still an amazing product, but I hate Apple since all these missing features just seems like they're intentionally giving themselves room for improvement in the future. (i.e. it has 256GB of RAM right now, 2nd gen will have 512 or 1GB of RAM and they can say "4x faster!!")

Think about what you're saying. Did the first iPod Touch have very snappy performance? No, it didn't. The iPad does however, on day one.

I agree that more RAM would be nice, but the device operates very nicely the way it is now. This is not a comparable product to the first iPod Touch in any way. It's far more polished in every way.
 
Some parts of the software are still buggy, but the hardware itself is solid.
