My 19" (non-ws) Hanns-g from Mac Connection was $105 after rebate. No real problems besides two stuck pixels and that's only noticeable on black background. It's an external display for my PB.

In retrospect I probably should have spent more for a 20" WS to get higher resolution. But for someone with a Mac Mini or iBook/MacBook it would be a fine monitor. Well, I can always upgrade and sell it or give it away.

incredible... i can get it in europe for less than 200 euro  ... financing makes this a 60 euro downpayment and 12 euro/month for a year... i pay more for coffee in a WEEK :D

I got a 19" WD Gateway monitor for 200 at CompUSA, DVI and all, using as a second screen on my MB. I'm not a big fan of how it occasionally flickers when I watch DVDs though.

I finally purchased an LCD display. A 20 inch wide screen Viewsonic VX2025wm. Office Depot had it for $299 after rebate. Only used it for 2 hours but so far I'm pleased. PM me if you have questions.

Well I've started using the 19" Widescreen Hans-G that was posted earlier and it's great. Highly recommended.

Keep in mind that "Haans G" only makes the bezel and puts the components together. The actual LCD display is usually made by one of the few LCD manufacturers out there - Samsung, LG, etc. The brand might be no name, but the screen is made by the same company as every other LCD out there.
Actually, Hanns G belongs to a panel manufacturer, AFAIK. Sandisk MP3 players are dirt cheap too (ok, some people say they feel like that too :D ). They also belong to Hannspree, which has an interesting line of designer TVs (between Apple ones (they really look like an apple... no, not a Mac, but like the one that's supposed to keep the doctor away) and some really cool and stylish looking TVs... sometimes even a bit Bang & Olufsen like, IMHO). The panel is probably from Hannstar.
The c't, probably the best computer magazine in Germany, reviewed some of these 19" widescreens, and it seems that the Hanns.G is one of the better models, with good contrast and a good viewing angle (both things are quite a problem with these TN+film displays... blacks are... uh... not black and the viewing angle is so much of an issue that at a normal viewing position the colors can change from the left to the right side, etc. (although the changes are rather subtle)). No monitor for professional image editing (although I have a TN display, which is decent enough IMHO), but other than that it's good enough I guess. Especially for movies (if you have some light on in the background at night, otherwise the blacks can be really annoying and ugly).
