So in 2014 I bought 6 Plus (because of the bigger battery). It was the newest and freshest model but there was constant lag and stutter in UI of iOS.
Few months ago I bought iPad mini 4, which is also the newest model, however, iOS does stutter too!

Can somebody explain how can Apple still get away with that?

I was laughing at android based devices as some of them lagged even if they were new, but now I realise it is the same with iDevices.

Yeah there are a lot of threads but it's a major issue that needs to be addressed by Apple. However the very opposite is occuring. Extremely frustrating when we are spending hundreds or even upwards of a thousand dollars on these products but they perform like slop when previously devices at the same price point absolutely FLEW.

Threads about it are kinda redundant, I agree, but some people actually are frustrated about this issue, so they vent, voice their opinion. It's frustrating when the things that are very harmful and annoying to our experiences are completely shrugged off by both Apple and other people in the discussion. Maybe we need a sticky "lag venting thread, current iOS performance situation" so people who are irritated can voice their opinion but not flood the forum with separate threads about the same thing. Those that simply don't see the lag or aren't bothered by it can stay away and keep their blood pressure regulated.

Your middle name isn't Radon is it? These lag threads all sound the same. Rest assured that there are many many of us that in fact do not report the so called lag. Your generic statement of "constant lag and stutter in UI of iOS" is of no use to anyone. Are you talking about iOS 8? 9? If in fact you suffer from lag, what if anything have you tried to correct it? Clean reinstalls? Blanket statements about Apple getting away with it all the while it continues to grow market share in mobile space is silly. And by the way, my "family" owns everything from an iPhone 5 through iPhone 6s with nary a complaint. One final thought, when does your contract expire? May be time to go explore one of those wonderful Androids! I hear they are practically giving them away!

Yes it's very redundant and frustrating for those of us (many many I suspect) that in fact are tired of having the lag issue beat to death. So yes I am all for sticking together the people of lag so that they may commiserate in their misery. That way those us interesting in discussing potential bugs or in making real contributions to improving iOS can do so with out having to filter the repetitive lag threads. A lot of them seem to come from the same people by the way. You know who you are.

Stop. Your condescending sort of message there is exactly what sets these exact threads off in the exact same way every single time, causing them to spiral out of control and get closed or finally just fall off the first page. We don't want to hear "Oh it's just you because my <x device> is perfect" all the time, people who care this much typically try clean installing. Trust me, I've tried it. Never made a difference. I've always been able demonstrate my issues on other devices, too. So obviously it is an OS-level issue, and it takes certain eyes, tolerance, and standards to notice the problems. Keep in mind this is when reduce motion and reduce transparency are disabled. So if you are talking about your experience with either of these settings enabled, you aren't talking about the same experience we are.

This thread should be closed before it even starts.

Well put. I apologize for starting to flame in my last response. Just getting frustrated just as much as you are.

And I'll admit I'm one of the very vocal few that people always complain about, I understand why people complain about it though, which makes me try to tone things down a bit but it still doesn't really change my stance.

At the risk of appearing dismissive or worse, the solution is to vote with your wallet. If you are continuing to experience issues with Apple products, the obvious solution is to buy something else. If enough people are truly having these issues, and they go spend their cash on other brands, Apple will lose market share, and either fix the issues, or shutter their doors.

With that said, however, my immediate family (myself, my wife, our 6 kids, their spouses plus 3 grandkids) owns a total of 16 iPhones, more than 10 iPads and 6 Macs. As the guy that gets the call when something is wrong or lagging or sluggish, I can say that not one of them has any ongoing issues with the stuff mentioned here. Most are running the latest version of iOS and OS X. Maybe we're just lucky... or ...

Absolutely zero lag on my iPhone 6 that has been consistently restored from backups from device to device going back to the iPhone 4.

Yes, 6 is okay. I was talking about Plus.

It's not 'real issues' what bothers me. Luckily, they've solved most of the issues brought by iOS 7. The thing which I have problem with is not all animations are smooth (aka '~60fps'). Opening multitasking on Mini 4 is like 4 fps, really.
I think that only some people do perceive this. Others really don't care, as long as device does what they need, they are ok. My mom wouldn't care. :D Maybe that's why your relatives don't complain (and no offence, I'm happy for them).

And that other thing you said about not buying their products, well, firstly, I really didn't think that the newest model could stutter, secondly, I'm so deep in Apple ecosystem. I have bought lot of apps, accessories and devices and as I said, I have seen Androids stutter too. :D

I just have this feeling that when enough people complain, they could make it better (?). (And yes, I also reported to Apple).

No such thing as ZERO lag on older devices. Anyone claiming so is oblivious!
But in reality it's not such a big issue. You will only really notice it if you are hypersensitive or when you use the newer devices and compare!

The solution is to never update your iOS device beyond the iOS that it shipped with. If your 6 shipped w/ iOS 8, don't update beyond the last version of 8.

No. It's a serious issue, it should be discussed as much as possible.
That doesn't mean there need to be multiple discussions about the same thing or that it should take over other threads that are about other things.

Definitely quite a bit of stuttering on iPhone 6s+. This is my first iPhone and I definitely wasn't impressed with iOS as the operating system. The only reason I am sticking around is because of app support.

Maybe you should re-evaluate your priorities if nobody else in your family cares or notices and you are going to great lengths to get a micro stutter fixed on an unofficial Apple forum... You're in almost every thread complaining about how unusable iOS 9 is yet you just said your family doesn't even notice it.

I find it hard to believe something is unusable for an issue that it seems like the majority of people you know don't even notice the problem.
