I find it hard to believe something is unusable for an issue that it seems like the majority of people you know don't even notice the problem.

Indeed. The hyperbole with which these kinds of claims are made is what makes them so hard to take seriously. I'm constantly reading on these boards about how iOS x.x will absolutely cripple any device that's more than a month old. At present, I'm running 9.2 on an iPhone 4s, an iPad Mini and an iPod Touch 5g. All of them are working just fine.

I'm guessing I just have a different idea of what constitutes "usable" than some folks. If I'm using it, it's usable.

Careful, man. Reasoned, logical talk like that will get you branded "fanboy" faster than you can say it. :D

And as I stated above, my experience is pretty much the same as yours.

At the risk of appearing dismissive or worse, the solution is to vote with your wallet. If you are continuing to experience issues with Apple products, the obvious solution is to buy something else. If enough people are truly having these issues, and they go spend their cash on other brands, Apple will lose market share, and either fix the issues, or shutter their doors.

...

Vote with your wallet? That is a bit condescending not to mention lame.
If that person/family has hundreds ($) in apps, hundreds/thousands in accessories / other hardware, not to mention tens to hundreds to thousands of hours in care, maintenance, iTunes, Apple Music, and other systems and they get a crappy iOS release that causes their device(s) to run poorly trotting out the "wallet" is ludicrous and at best has as much, likely less, impact as one of these threads.

The solution is to never update your iOS device beyond the iOS that it shipped with. If your 6 shipped w/ iOS 8, don't update beyond the last version of 8.

In these days of security issues and Apple's penchant to update only the latest that option is not unless you are okay with the security issues. Your dollar may vary.

I honestly don't know what people are doing to their phones to cause this lag. I haven't got it on my 6s Plus or my work issued iPhone 6.

It is likely the person. My wife thinks 30fps is great while the rest of the family sees it as not quite. It's like florescent lights, as they age, some notice the flicker long before others.
Visual perception.

I seriously don't think it isn't usable... mostly annoying. I can remember when we and others gave Google hell for the stutter/lag and Google significantly improved it with Project Butter and other changes. It amazes me the same "Apple" users now want to give Apple a pass for the same issue in iOS?

So, just keep buying stuff that doesn't work for you. That makes a lot of sense.

Stability and performance trump "security" in my book.

Not when I do a lot of financial / confidential stuff on mine.

Maybe. If you plan to drop the iOS ecosystem, you have to analyze / plan for it and have the cash to execute it.
One of the pitfalls of a walled garden. You can't just "jump ship" in most cases.
Most users I expect place a lot of "hope" that it will "get better".

Maybe you should re-evaluate your priorities if nobody else in your family cares or notices and you are going to great lengths to get a micro stutter fixed on an unofficial Apple forum... You're in almost every thread complaining about how unusable iOS 9 is yet you just said your family doesn't even notice it.

I find it hard to believe something is unusable for an issue that it seems like the majority of people you know don't even notice the problem.
You know, there's this thing called perception/opinion.I am more sensitive to performance issues thaṅ my dad for example who uses a 5S/c .He doesn't notice any difference between the 5s and the 6 in performance even in obvious areas. The lag is there. It annoys me to no extent as it appears intermittently driving me up the wall any time I want to use my iPhone 6.The only solution it seems at this point is to get an Flagship Android which is still not an easy decision to make as I use iMessage extensively

And what that all also says is that an issue of this type isn't as bad as those who might be really sensitive to it try to make it be for everyone. It might be that bad for them, but that has no bearing as to what it's like for most others.

No lags on my iPhone or iPad Mini 2.
I'm not saying that some don't have lags but it also could be the apps you are running. There were threads about battery life and a lot of that turned out to be the Facebook app. People seem to be more interesting in bitching about it than working to see exactly what is causing it and what they can do about it.

Everybody is right. This is about individual perception. Like someone said: everybody does not perceive flickering light either.

One who does not see it has no issue. One who sees it and does not care has no issue. One who sees and cares has issue and level of issue depends how much it annoys. And this is what stutter/lag is at most: annoying. That is why it is a bit misleading to say that "iPhone is unusable with ios9 because of stutter/lag". I would say that "I do not want to use iPhone with ios9 because of stutter and lag that I am perceiving". :)

Again, and again, and again... People keep whining about those horrible lags and stuttering.
I'm running iOS 9.2 on my wife's iPhone 5s, my son's iPad Air, my iPhone 6 and my iPad mini 4: still have to see any lag.
Stuttering ? Not at all. Yes, the animations may drop some frames from time to time, but there's nothing wrong.

But I'm sure we will see other threads about this, and when iOS 10 will be released, we will see a lot of threads about "how iOS 9.2 was smooth and iOS 10 lags".
[doublepost=1452388198][/doublepost]In the meanwhile, yesterday I played a good 30 minutes with a galaxy S6 and the device is a nightmare regarding UI stuttering. It is perfectly usable for me, but I laugh at people reporting android as more fluid than iOS....

But the thing is I was satisfied on 8.4.1 .It was perfect for me

How can you even notice lag on the S6?Its animations are too damn fast and the phone races along

We understand that. It just doesn't really mean that there's something horrific about iOS 9 for others.

Hahaha
Stuttering = The animations drop some frames from time to time.

So you define stuttering but say it is not stuttering. It is exactly people like you who are in constant denial which is causing uproar on these forums.

You know,it seems like many people here seem to want to sweep this issue under the rug for whatever reason beyond my understanding.Guys like me call it as we see it.Windows 10 Mobile has the loading lag.Android has the Widgets lag and now iOS has also joined the fold. The issue is decently widespread considering the complaints and honestly these stutters really take away from the Apple experience we are used to.Is it so hard for Agent and Stulaw to understand that we are not trolling but rather frustrated with our phones

No sweeping of anything is going on, just that most people don't blow things out of proportion.

Or we are just being realistic here. The OP is experiencing an issue on his $1000 investment in iOS.He has the right to complain about it
Or, people maybe having a small issue and by the time it gets discussed on these fora the device is practically unstable and unless you agree with that assessment your part of the flock.
