The address range 192.168.x.x (mask 255.255.255.0) is reserved for private networks and will not be routed by any normal router on the internet.

Actually, that's 192.168.0.0 mask 255.255.0.0 is private. Others include 10.0.0.0 mask 255.0.0.0 and 172.16.0.0 - 172.31.0.0.
