In that thread, someone tells you how to get rid of the lag. It lags cause the default settings that get set when using that root method is to use less battery (meaning less CPU).

Yes I am aware of that. I rooted three S7 Edge phones using those very steps and it was impossible to get rid of the lag and battery drainage problems just like many others in that thread. Like those others, I ended up going back to stock. My latest Edge is an unlocked US model and it too suffered both problems which the threads suggestions could not fix.

Here is a detailed explanation:
https://kb.adguard.com/index.php?/K...ndroid-battery-and-traffic-consumption-issues

TL;DR: Android counts all the traffic as if it was originated from Adguard. Thus, Adguard's battery usage seems to be higher than it is, and other apps battery usage seems to be lower.
But I do get almost double the screen time when I leave Adguard off. I have done this on all three of my S7 Edge phones and have noticed better battery life with Adguard off.

I did switch to http proxy on my rooted Note 5 and Note 4 and Adguard doesn't show up in the battery useage after a full day so this helps on rooted phones.

One more possible issue is that some apps may misbehave due to ad blocking. For instance, there was an issue with Play Music, it was repeating ad request hundred times every second. It should be easy to track such misbehaving app in Adguard's "Apps Management" section.

Btw, in the next AG version, we will also add Samsung Knox support. This is some kind of a "legal root", so you'll be able to use proxy mode even on an unrooted phone.

Edit: apparently, Samsung Knox is available on Samsung devices only:)

It is. I only own Samsung devices for Android anyways. I hope you still include it in the next version.
