Attaching the pencil when u're not using it is a bad idea. You'll kill the battery life of the pencil. Just put it in your bag when not in use. The more you move it around the more you'll drain its battery and the more often you'll have to charge it.

Except, if you're a user who uses it often, you don't want it always in a bag and have to get it from there every time you want to use it. It's a portable device, I'm a little disappointed Apple hasn't figured people would want to use the Apple Pencil very often. The bluetooth off option is probably the best bet, but neither is a great solution.

Ooh, this one seems interesting. Does it add a lot of thickness to the pencil? Feel weird? I like it and the price!
Hardly adds any thickness over most of the pencil (~1mm?), there's just the lump where the magnet is.. I actually like the lump, and I much prefer using the pencil with the sleeve as it's got a nice grippy texture. It's a little too glossy without IMO- I would have made it matte but that's not very Apple I guess. :/

I think some people would have issue with the lump - I have a friend who can't cope at all with non symmetrical pens, has to take the buttons off his Wacom etc. I feel it anchors better in my hand with different "ways up". If you hold your pencil near the tip your fingers won't touch the magnet section at all. :)

I like that. I currently use an old iPad sleeve and just throw the pencil right in there with the iPad. Any idea if the iPad with a smart cover or apple keyboard cover would fit in this Incase sleeve?
Yes, it does fit. I have the apple Smart Keyboard and it fits quite nicely.

I just ordered my new iPad Pro and iPad pencil. I know there is no way to attach/carry the pencil with the iPad itself, so I am curious how you all do it? A decent case and put the pencil in the pen holder if there is one? Some other accessory I dont know about?

Thanks for any tips!

I do not carry my Apple Pencil. In fact I have not used it in months as I have little use for it. Find my finger is quicker for what I do. I am not sure I even know where my pencil is!

I recently lost my iPad mini and purchased a iPad Pro 9,7 so am now using a leather pouch made by Escada given to me by Lufthansa on a flight to Houston. There was a slip inside saying that it was designed specifically for iPads once you've taken the Amenity kit out. Works well. Not too protected.

Alitalia have a much better one that doubles up as a iPad case. It's very well padded on both sides and includes an outer pocket for the pencil.
[doublepost=1480963021][/doublepost]It may be worth frequent travellers to keep this in mind? I use an Etihad pouch for keeping my rMBP charger need and tidy in my bag.

I use my 9.7 iPad Pro DODO case. I love it - the loop on it is such a simple and perfect solution for storing the pencil. And the cover offers great protection.

— and no, I am in no way connected to DODOcase — I just bought their lovely, handcrafted cover.

I concur with some of the replies about integrated pencil holders with the cases. The power drain is a pain in the "arse" when you need to use it. Shutting it down by turning off the bluetooth is bit of inconvenience. However, I started to appreciate Tech21 removable apple pencil holder and sleeves that have integrated pencil holders like the knock off Apple Leather sleeves.
