Another vote for the Zugu Muse. It adds a little to the weight, but it's very protective and I love the choice of viewing angles.

I'm curious about how people protect (or don't) their iPads, regardless of size. I've had three, don't currently have one, probably going 11" iPP in March after update, depending. My mini went naked, my others had covers, not cases. I found that, unlike my phone, I don't use my iPad while walking about, on the go. It's mostly sitting in the car, on the couch, on the train, etc., just needed a little protection on the screen.

But I'm getting more paranoid, given the cost of a new iPP, so I'm curious.
Also, anyone ever regretted not having more protection on their iPad? Dropped it somehow?

I use this case for my 10.5 Pro

I highly recommend something like this both because it protects the backside and front of the iPad (when closed), but mostly because, once you get used to having a dedicated backlit keyboard you won’t go back. Not losing onscreen space from the native keyboard is a huge thing that I didn’t realize would be until living with it.

Another big benefit is being able to angle the iPad any way you like and have it stay there.

If I had it to do again I’d get the case like the one above but without the trackpad/cursor control. It frankly sucks (as did the Logitech one I had before) so I just disable that feature every time I turn on the keyboard.

i currently have 3 iPads. An iPad Pro 12.9, an Air 4 and a Mini 5. Only the 12.9 is in a smart case because I’m trying to sell it and want to keep it protected. Plus it’s too big for my stand, so if I do use it to watch something, I can flip the cover over and stand it up. The Air 4 and Mini are naked unless they leave the house, then they go into smart cases.

I just bought an Air 4 and a case from Amazon which is similar to the smart case and I love it. Can easily detach when I just want the iPad, but can put it back for having my stand plus a sliver to house the Apple Pencil should I get one. So far so good on it. I don’t like bulky cases at all, but this one disappears quite nicely and doesn’t add much weight.

I own a space gray iPad Mini 5 protected by a Zugu Case. I have the same case as displayed in post #22 on the previous page. This is the best case I have ever owned for an iPad, no contest. I keep my Logitech Crayon stored in the sleeve located on the back of the case.

I have to have a case for grip. I'm a klutz, and Apple products are always so damn slippery. I don't take it out of the house often, but I have tile floors.

Thats the exact same one I have for my 12.9 I thought when you said "easily detach" you had a good one. Feels like Im going to break my iPad every time I try to take it out of that case, anything but easy ha. Maybe the 12.9 cases are different.

Yeah Im guessing the 12.9 and it’s size is the difference, I’m not sure what to tell you? The Air comes right out with no issue when I just want the tablet but when I put it back the magnets snap and it’s no issue. I tried the 12.9 once a few years ago, loved the screen size but that thing was so unwieldy that I returned it.

My 2017 10.5 iPad Pro is in a very slim third party case with a magnetic cover. The sides are covered. I like that it protects enough without adding bulk. I used to have a screen protector too, but found I don’t really need it with the magnetic cover. I need the front cover of the case to fold and use it as a stand 90% of the time.
