Does anyone know the name of the app that allows one to view a graphical representation of the items taking space on the hard disk?

WhatSize

Edit - Sorry, that one's not exactly graphical, so I don't know if that's the one you're looking for, but it does allow you to see exactly how much space each folder (and subfolder and file within) is taking up.

All I do to maintain my Macs is repair disk permissions before OS upgrades (10.4.6 -> .7) then run it again when the update is installed. Other than those 2 things NOTHING. The daily, weekly, and monthly scripts are handled by the system so I see no point running them from another app. The only other thing these "repair" apps seem to do is pre-binding but this is handled by the system when some apps or upgrades install.

I should also say that I never install 3rd party haxies.

As with my other threads, title says it all.

I ask, because I want to be sure that my Mac will perform in near-tip-top condition even 3 or 4 years down the road. I managed to do it almost well with a PC (think of 5 years of battling with PC problems), but since I'm switching, I want to learn more about how to do it on a Mac.

Onyx works great, and is free at www.versiontracker.com

Watch Out! Vacuuming creates a lot of static electricity, which in turn could potentially ruin your computer. I use compressed air.......from my lungs:p , but if you have a few spare bucks buy a can and be done with it. It's good for getting to all those hard to reach spots.

Humidity is bad too. Especially spit.
