How do you raise your iMac to eye level?

I guess their solution is cobble something together that looks like a boy scout woodwork project or sit at your computer with monitor tilted, hunch your head/neck/back and develop a Quasimodo posture. 🙂

I don't understand why most people buy iMacs with a stand (unless you're small of course). I sold the VESA-mount iMac in this picture a few weeks ago (5K model, *with* VESA mount is on its way), but I had a hard time doing so. Most buyers want a stand, and then they shove a bunch of books underneath it. I really don't get that.
Ergnomics is key if you care about your physical well-being. My desk is an electrical sit-stand desk, I love it. But besides ergonomics, it's really nice to have the iMac "float" in space in front of me (I don't really see the arm from where I sit/stand).

Oh, and notice that Wacom Intuos tablet (angled slightly) sunk into my desktop. That was a nice opportunity to dust off my rusty woodworking skills 🙂

That Elevation Stand is nicely made BTW, but still not height-adjustable.
 
How do you raise your iMac to eye level?

I bought a "Just Mobile mtable". It's not that high, but it works for me. And the alu design is sweet
 
The AIO iMac is one computer that tends to exercise companies H&S departments in the UK - certainly public bodies.

The organisation I work for considered by a number iMac's for the senior staff (you just love them don't you). Anyway to cut a long story short they gave up on the plan because of H&S fears and meeting legislation around computers in the workplace.

Due to expensive bespoke desks any kind of drilling and screwing was out of the question.

It's is a short-coming of the iMac that there is no vertical adjustment.
 
For my current 23" cinema displays i just made a couple of very simple stands out of MDF.

Bought an offcut of 18mm MDF for next to nothing and got them to cut the pieces to size for me at the shop. Each stand just has a square top "shelf" and sides to raise it.

Drilled some small guide holes and countersinks and screwed the pieces together. Took less than an hour. Only tools were a drill, a drill bit and a countersink. Oh I also put some felt tape on the bottom s they move easily on the desk and don't scratch. They fit something like a USB hub or small audio interface under them nicely and you can make them exactly the height you want...

Keep meaning to paint them white but haven't got round to it yet (3 years and counting)... they look a bit shoddy now but when I do paint them I think they will look as good if not better than most of the stands I see for sale.

After getting some confidence building those, I built this which I did paint 🙂
