I write things down. Once I do, I never forget.

There's always this..

This is an interesting thread. I am always for look-out for better way to manage projects/contacts/appointments.

I use Palm TX at all times. I have the Piel Frama case with the belt clip (so my PDA is always clicked on my belt when I am on the job). I think I have good memory; but, I want to make sure I don't want to miss business opportunity with clients. So, I also use a small Daylite scheduler book with weekly spread viewing format so that I can scribble a quick note when I have to follow up with the client. I try to use PDA as much as possible; but, sometimes I have to use Daylite book when I am making a call after a call and taking a quick note at the same time.

I have been using Palm based PDA for over 7 years (I had a stint with Pocket PC based HP Jonarda; but, I did not like that much). Palm PDA has really helped me make my contacts and appointments managment a piece of cake.

I also use my tablet PC to take notes as well.

With my incerdibly busy lifestyle, I have a few methods...

1) Notes on my cell phone
2) iCal notes that send me emails and show alarms
3) Notes on my cell phone to check mails :p
4) Notes on my whiteboard
5) Notes written down in the most used items/spaces in the house (computer, camera, bathroom...)
6) Alarms on my iPod
7) And if all else fails, I have my final 2 fail-proof methods: my mom and my girlfriend. Nothing gets past them!

I use my brain. I visualize what i need to do, when and where, vivdly. If it's important (rare) I add ridiculous/extreme elements to the visualization to enhance recall. This is not infallible, but it exercises the grey matter a

I visualize what I need to do, when and where, vivdly. If it's important (rare) I add ridiculous/extreme elements to the visualization to enhance recall.
This is not infallible, but it exercises the grey matter and hence delays premature deterioration.
I do write down little used phone #s, passwords, etc.

At work I have a Daily Task list that I created. I can add other things to it (usually I do this when I walk my Department to see what needs to be done).

At home I don't have any To-Do list ... although that does sounds like a good idea...

I use iCal for long term goals and appointments. Then sticky notes in dashboard for supposed everyday things and general reminders i.e. "Exercise", "Spanish Homework"...then I have a written list of around the house things, errands and grocery list.

Another vote for Getting Things Done. I've been using that approach for over a year now and I really feel like it's made a difference for me. My system primarily "lives" on my Palm TX, although I've been wanting to experiment with a Hipster PDA since it's so difficult to write on a digital PDA.

What? Remember things? How?? Wha? Where? Who.....?

These days I HAVE to write things down. I have a calendar by my desk that I write all my appointments and events on. That works well since I look at it everyday. We also have a little white board on our fridge where I've started writing down upcoming events so that we see them when we're planning our week. That little board is also what we use to plan our dinner menus for the week, which is very helpful when planning grocery lists. Lastly, since we use Outlook at work I also put things in my Outlook calendar and set up each one to remind me a certain amount of time before the event actually happens.

It's not a foolproof system (i.e. I sometimes forget to write things down), but it does the trick for the most part.
