how often do you stare at your home screen that this bothers you? normally people are using the apps and not crying over how many apps are in a row. only on macrumors o_O:rolleyes:

I dunno...of the millions of iPhone users out there, I suspect at least a minority wish you could have more than 4 icons per row, esp. on the Plus sizes.

If you think it's only people on Macrumors wanting it, I think you are mistaken.

I really don't care either way. I do know I'm jail-broken and loving it. There hasn't been anything since iOS 9.0.2 that is a must-have in my opinion so I'm happy right where I am.

The apps I use most are going to be on the lower right hand side so they're easily reached (iPhone 7 Plus lol)

Would you mind posting the blank wallpaper?

My home screens are typically organized by the apps that I use most.

Mines is just a big mess, 8 pages, mostly haphazard with the most used apps on the bottom of 1st screen. It changes often. On the other hand my I pad is very organized, mostly in folders, with some pages just for specific types of apps (ie there is a page of art apps, not in folders, just on their own page.

Eight pages would drive me nuts. Do you really use all those apps?

Does anyone else screenshot their old device when they get a new device to make sure they have all the icons set up exactly the same way? I know restoring from backup should do this but I set up as new sometimes.

Absolutely. I do that with app icons (including those in folders) and Cydia source if jailbroken. I also screenshot my downloaded YouTube videos in my ProTube app.

Here
First, I'm jail-broken...so I can fit everything on the home screen. A second screen holds my unused and trial apps I may be evaluating.

I group by function and position it to my preference.

Clean and easy to get to everything...
why Apple insists on controlling some customization of the screen is silly.

Do you think you could share a link to that wallpaper? It looks similar to thr one that came with the "New iPad."

As someone who used Prime Nova Launcher on Android religiously --- I'd put EVERYTHING on one page and super size it down so I didn't have to have any folders. Now that I am on iOS, I put things in folders. I try to keep things within thumb reach out of folders (bottom rows) - most used. Then I try to make some logical sense of organization by folder name but because of limited icon space, some things don't belong, like Duolingo in Exercise.

This is probably the most discouraging thing about iOS for me. I hate swiping screens, probably because my years of Nova Launcher usage. One thing I love about my iPad.

And yeah, I use Google ... a lot.

Jailbreaking can make finding things in folders a little easier. :D

I am nearly stock with some own usage apps. This is my way of arrangement with following rules.

My rules:
  • Always have Favor folder in main page and I am using it a lot.
  • Phone, Messages (seldom use already), Facebook and Chrome always in main bar.
  • Stock apps often in main page & second page but does't means those apps I often using it.
  • Second page had more folder created in a proper arrangement.
  • If got any ugly apps icon I will always hide it, put the most inside of Misc.
  • Games will only be inside Games folder, forever cannot be outside the folder.
  • I use up to 3 pages only to assure the dot in center when in home screen.
  • Leaving some space at bottom to make the home screen not clouded.
  • All arrangement follow my own feel with equality balance and color arrangement.
