I don't have an iPhone myself, sorry.

I'm just here to hopefully provide answers to basic questions.

Okay, I figured this out. You have to enable settings in the preferences for Entourage and Address Book. Would have been nice if the iPhone docs mentioned this rather than simply saying "it is possible."

Glad you figured it out.

And I'll agree, probably should've been mentioned in a little bit more detail in the manual. I mean, it's not like they are shipping the damn thing (inside iPhone box)

But what setting to use?

I just figured this out as well. But...

1) What settings did you used in Entourage? Override Address Book, Sync with Address Book...?

2) What setting do you have to enable in Address Book? I just enabled the Sync setting in Entourage only and it seemed to work (Entourage moved data to Address Book and it then moved onto my iPhone).

3) Will an event entered into the calendar on iPhone make it all the way back to Entourage (iPhone to Address Book to Entourage)?

This is enough to make me switch from Entourage to the Apple Aps.

This is What Worked for Me

1. Open Entourage;
2. Open Preferences;
3. Go to Sync Services and check contacts and events;
4. Connect you iPhone and do a sync.

Using Entourage X

Those options for syncing with address book are not available in the "X" version of Entourage. I know it's an "end of life" program but I really don't feel like upgrading to 2004. Anyone know how I could go about syncing address book with the "X" version?

I know it sucks to be told "there's no way to do it without upgrading..." but I haven't found a way to sync entourage without upgrading to 2004. And even then, it syncs just my calendar and contacts -- not my old email. Perhaps that is a blessing in disguise since I have hundreds of old emails, but still.

Good luck!

It's gonna take a script...

Open entourage, go to "preferences", then under "general preferences" you should see "sync services". Again it's only in entourage 2004, not X.:)

I'm with you all the way until "sync services" I have under General Preferences: General, Address Book, Calendar, Fonts, Spelling, Notifications and Security - nothing about sync anywhere that I can find... any thoughts as to how I can get my missing sync option to come home????

Run a software update in Entourage. You may need the latest version of 2004 for Sync Services.

As the post above me mentions. The Sync Services options were added with a software update. You must be running an old version.

In Entourage under the "Help" menu, select "Check for Updates".

I'm running into the same problem with my Entourage 2004. I tried running "check for updates" but none were available. Any other suggestions? I'm frickin' tired of having to upgrade everything on my computer just to get this phone working/syncing properly which, evidently, still isn't enough...

[UPDATE]: Found the necessary upgrade on the Mactopia website:

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downlo...004_1135.xml&secid=4&ssid=33&flgnosysreq=True

Looks like their "AutoUpdate" needs an update every once and a while as well:

I have found out that pictures set for contacts in Entourage, don't transfer to the iPhone. Everything else transfers, but the pictures don't. Not sure if there's a fix for this, but I'm guessing that the new version of Office will address many issues with syncing and such! At least I hope...

Weird, I have the sync services menu in preferences, and have checked address book and calendar. However in iCal, my Entourage calendar items don't show up. There is an "Entourage" calendar in iCal automatically created by Entourage, but none of my events are there. I've even tried to manually sync in entourage.

I had the same problem until I updated my MacBook Pro to OS X 10.4.10 and the latest version of Entourage via MS updater.

I can sync calendars both ways now. Cool!!!
