It doesn't turn them off. The power drain is merely reduced. There is no on/off function. The magnet in the case turns them off. Thus, I wonder if 'any' magnet would turn them off...
Yes very true. There is no way to switch the AirPods/Pro's off. There is battery management offered via IoS for optimised charging. We might see that for the Max's one dayI guess if you think about it. The airpods / airpods pro work the same way
Haha rightYou'll have to wait for the Airpods Max Pro, which will have a power-off function. We think you're going to love it.
ON/Off switch is yours for just £199You'll have to wait for the Airpods Max Pro, which will have a power-off function. We think you're going to love it.
Is the 5 min auto sleep confirmed? Thats good to know thanks2 ways..put them in the case and that will put the headphones in sleep mode, or let them be and after 5 minutes will auto go into sleep mode
Good point, but of course the key difference being the Airpod Pro's get charged while in that state of being, while the Max will just slowly drain hahaYes very true. MKBHD said 2h in his video.I think he is a reliable source.Someone else said takes 2 hours inactive to turn off, but that seems crazy.
If the ultra low power mode is any thing like the AirPod Pros, I doubt a lot of people will be mad or rightfully disappointed. It doesn't turn them off. The power drain is merely reduced. There is no on/off function.
AirPods Max case
Apple says that the AirPods Max Smart Case is designed to put the headphones into an “ultra-low power state that helps to preserve battery charge when not in use.” This functionality sounds useful and seemingly works properly, but the design of Smart Case is a different story.
In what way?If the ultra low power mode is any thing like the AirPod Pros, I doubt a lot of people will be mad or rightfully disappointed.
I have found the low power mode to work great with my AirPod Pros.In what way?
I kinda think the issue is the that they work the same but that they aren't the same type of product and that affects the way you use them, naturally. In the case of the airpods they are small and individual. It makes sense that when you aren't using them, you would put them in the case to not lose them.If the ultra low power mode is any thing like the AirPod Pros, I doubt a lot of people will be mad or rightfully disappointed.
Valid point. At the same time, for $550 (plus tax, tag, and title) it may behoove a lot of people to start putting headphones in the case or at least get a headphone stand.I kinda think the issue is the that they work the same but that they aren't the same type of product and that affects the way you use them, naturally. In the case of this product they are headphones. I wouldn't want to put them in the case everytime I take them off.
