iPad weighs a lot more than an iPhone. Dropped from waist level onto a hardwood floor, what's the damage going to be?

I would assume that there would not be much if you dropped it on its back with the aluminum. However, it does have a much larger sheet of glass on the front. I would just suggest being careful with it like you would your laptop. I don't even like dropping my iPhone.

But where will the water sensors (and how many) will there be.

Will I be able to read in the tub or float a drink on it while at the pool? ;)

So obviously I'll have to treat it like my 17" MBP, rather than my iPhone. I've dropped my iPhone at least a dozen times, sometimes on VERY hard surfaces (NYC subway platforms), with never any problem. But I've never dropped my MBP; so that's the strategy I'll take with the iPad.

I wonder if Speck will put out a product for the back.

Of course it will depend on what part of it hits the ground first. I'd say a fair amount of damage like chips and dents. But a cracked screen would also be possible as well.

When you get yours drop it and report back to us - providing a youtube video would be a plus ;)

I'm hoping Apple is switching to Gorilla Glass or something similar, that crap is damn near indestructible and unscratchable.
