something I think they should have added in this vote and opinion is to separate users, i.e., new ipad owners vs prior owners. As prior owner, I see no huge "Wow me" difference from one to the other for the most part. I only got a new one because my prior was 16GB. I went to a 128GB so I could store my 700+ songs and all my important pictures on it when traveling and maybe not have internet access. I choose not to have extra monthly bill of cell data for cloud. I also wanted to have room to load a couple of movies to play if bored without the same issue. I do want to add something I have noticed - some folks, based on a few comments, seem to think the Pro is better because such and such app works better. For Apple...no matter the device, the software is the same. So desktop is the same for all macs and macbooks and ios is the same for all mobile devices. The only difference is if your device is so old that it's hardware capabilities won't allow it to be upgraded. For example, my 3rd generation didn't have the touch home button so I didn't get features like signing in with finger. There are plenty of other examples but for the majority, the new features will work with any device of like type - desktop or mobile. When I bought my last ipad in late summer 2012 - a friend bought hers in the fall and had Siri and fingerprint resistant coating. At first I was disappointed because, I thought if I had just waited a month or two - I would have had the most up to date. Well, I quickly found out when I did my next upgrade...I had Siri too. it was then I set mine for automatic upgrades. I couldn't change the screen coating, just like I couldn't change my camera to a higher mp - but for the most part software based changes are there no matter which version/model you have. It has always been the same for my iMac. Now, if you are running something like certain games- maybe you see a difference though I haven't. The camera is a little better but then if I want great pictures, an ipad isn't what I use though it can have it's place.
The other issue - new owners vs prior. Any new owner of an ipad (especially if they haven't had a tablet and/or smartphone) will be overjoyed and in a magical state when they get their new ipad and discover how much you can do with it. However, once you have had a few - the real changes between models (again most changes are software based) is just not that ground shaking. With Apple these days, the real days of innovation and market separation are gone. It used to be they only released new software and devices after careful and long testing - so you had to wait a while in between - now they have updates all the time usually fixing some issue that woyld have been caught before initial release in prior glory days. It seems like now they use all of us guinea pigs. And lately, they keep releasing new models of mobile devices every year but the changes are so slight and the prices so high that you aren't running out to get the latest thing.
I think it would have been good to have a third category along with new and prior ipad owners...other brand tablets.
