What they need is an ON / OFF / STANDBY setting where if it is in standby and you click on locate me in maps, it turns on and starts with the triangulation, then narrows in via gps after it has locked on. Then maybe after a time period, turns back off.

Do you have Bluetooth turned on?

Could Location Services and Bluetooth be interfering with each other and causing greater battery drain?

Yeah, notice the trend?

3G 1 year ago - battery problems - people said turn off LS.

Not sure if anyone uses this or cares but keep in mind if location services is off then Find My iPhone will not work. I don't really but I thought I would throw it there.

Just reading through this thread to see if anyone else mentioned it. I'd rather have find my iPhone available tbh. Although I do have a car charger, and always carry the mains charger with me lol

Just remember though, if you have "findmyiphone" or "cylay", you won't be able to track your phone with location services off.
