Hmm, it does look good but i don't necessarily like the doc. Don't get me wrong, the look is a good idea but there's just something wrong with it. The dock icons also look very-outdated to me. it would've been better if it had the default Tiger icons unless you can use some other ones. You did a great job though! :D

Much greener pastures
I agree. It looks stunning, but the point of the rectangular area around the existing Dock is to show its boundary. If the icons extend outside this, it'll have the usability issues spicyapple describes above.
I thought of that too. I love the 3-D "platform" look, but you do bring up an important issue.

Perhaps there's a way of limiting window size so that it can't extend beyond the dock, similar to the current dock/window setup. Or perhaps the platform has some barely-there translucent backdrop (like what we have now, but even fainter). Or maybe there's some more elegant solution I haven't even thought of.

As far as the windows themselves, I have to agree that the one thing I'll give Vista over OS X is that their "frosted-glass" windows rock. I'd love to get rid of OS X's brushed metal.

Not to be digging up old posts, but it looks like this mockup was pretty darn spot on as far as the dock goes.

I KNEW I had seen that dock before! I knew it was on this site but I didn't know where to look so I didn't bother, but here it is. Steve should give you 1% of total profits awarded to sales of Leopard lmfao.

i've gotten rid of brushed metal with uno as several posters have already noted here.

and the second thing, what's the deal with tabbed finder? i'm not a big fans of tabs though with expose and wanting to see what's going on in all my windows at one time instead of just seeing one action at a time.

Like already mentioned, I would be flattered, but I am curious as to how this could play out legally?

wwdc was a huge disappointment, almost everything he demoed had already been shown at mwsf. to the average consumer wwdc = new dock, desktop, and finder. woopee! yawn
