I just wanted to post something for people to talk about their library on here.
I also have another question, what is your top 5 most played songs, and how many times have you played them?

My three answers would be...
499 songs ; 1.3 days ; 2.62 GB (post in that format)
1.) Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are (Me and my ex's song, which I fell asleep with on repeat). 278 plays
2.) The Fray - Never Say Never (current GF & I's song). 27 plays.
3.) Eminem - Not Afraid; 25 plays.
4.) Eminem - Like Toy Soldiers; 22 plays.
5.) Eminem - Beautifull 20 plays.

Could you please post it in a top 5 list?
And the format above? :)

Thanks!

william :)

My answers would be...

1427 items (includes songs + music videos) ; 3.5 days ; 13.06 GB (although I just recently went through and deleted a lot).

As for top songs, I went through a "drake phase" so even though I don't really listen to him as much now, he still dominates my top songs.

Top Tracks: Overall: (used my last.fm profile stats; not totally accurate)
1. Drake – Lust For Life (81 plays)
2. Drake – Say Whats Real (75)
3. Nicki Minaj – Getting Paid [Exclusive] (62)
4. Drake – Friends With Money (60)
5. Drake – Houstatlantavegas (57)

Top Tracks: Last three months
1. Kanye West – Power (Remix, Feat. Jay-Z & Swizz Beatz) (23 plays)
2. Super Jay – On the Set (21)
3. JoJo – In the Dark (21)
4. Drake – Do It All - (20)
5. Drake – Pass Da Dutch (19)

And TV shows & movies, most have been moved off my HD to my external one.

Over 200GB, over 10,000 songs, half songs are loseless.

Been using an external firewire powered 2.5" RAID since the day when 160GB is the largest 2.5" drive.

Usually at 160-192kbps MP3. I wish I had the disk space for lossless.

Only just started using iTunes... I usually use VLC. But I got an iPhone and decided to import the lot and have done with it. I appear to be going through a bit of an Emmure/Muse craze at the moment.

I think we did this before...?

Nonetheless I've added considerable muzak to my collection since then. All AAC or Lossless, and a handful of full quality songs. I don't like the quality of MP3.

not counting movies, podcasts, and all non-music stuff.

EDIT: Forgot to add the top played tracks.

I'll play. Only music, no video. Nothing bought from iTMS.

12,839 songs, 43 days, 181.11Gb.

Mixture of AACs and Apple Lossless, currently reripping, scanning and archiving everything to lossless with XLD, a couple of disks or so per day at a time. I hope to finish by this time next year.

1. Nadir — Ohmega Tribe (Anodyne Wisdohm album), 24 plays
2. Ramblin' Man — Lemon Jelly (Lost Horizons album), 22 plays
3. Jazz Master — Alex Reece (K&D Remix from the K&D Sessions album), 21 plays
4. Useless — Depeche Mode (K&D Remix from the K&D Sessions album) 21 plays
5. Calling Aventura King — Kid Loco (A Grand Love Story album), 20 plays

Close on their heels: Peace Orchestra, Sounds From The Ground, The Cinematic Orchestra.

I'm curious as to how you guys with large libraries manage those songs and how you hand pick which songs go into your phone/ipod/ipad.

Personally, I only have about 800 songs right now but that's after I went through my entire library and cleaned it up. I would have approximately 5,000+ songs if I accumulated every song that's ever passed through iTunes in the last decade.

I have several (about 10 CD-R) that are full of songs that I backed up and haven't added to my library. This is pretty much since since HS at 11th grade (1999. I feel old now.

And still growing...

It sucks managing this amount. I have several computers that I have to work with. Mac Mini, Mac Pro, Apple TV and a windows box as my server. All the files are on the windows box being backed up to an external esata drive. I wish Apple made it easier to have a iTunes server running with a thin client for just adding songs, apps etc, but all the other items remained on just one machine. It is a hassle. I haven't found anything that I can use to maintain my library. I have tried several....
