I have an iPhone 11. The smart thing would be to wait a few months and see what people say about the speed. I’m afraid it might slow the phone down unnecessarily. Apparently, the visual effects take up processing power.

But knowing myself, I’ll probably install it much sooner because I want to see what it’s like. :D
I can't help but feel its demand for processing power is overstated, since it's running well on my iPhone 14. I haven't tried it on my 11 yet, but I'll wait for the public beta for that.

Agree 💯

Apple doesn't make these sort of changes without major under the hood work. I am assuming the entire window server code has either been rewritten or at least refactored to the hilt. These UI/UX changes run deep into the infrastructure.

That amounts to the same thing

They rewrote a bunch code to make cosmetic changes

I can tell you what it is like right now - some animations are sluggish, some fancy effects (like “3D photos”) are not supported and the iPhone overheats on most mundane tasks. So if this is your main device, definitely wait for at least the RC, as by then iOS 26 should be optimised for older devices. 🖐️
