Here are some photos I just took of my Gen 1. It was a daily wearer for 18 months, up until about 3 weeks ago, when I purchased a SBSS Series 2.

Nothing flaking, peeling, delaminating or otherwise odd with it so far and I only own 2 bands for it, the latter a nylon one I purchased maybe 4 months ago and alternated with it. The first 14 months of its life it was just this band.

I've had my series 2 for a couple of years and the stop is stained, has anyone had much luck removing this sort of thing?

I’ve had some stains on the white sport band that the magic eraser couldn’t get out. I tried Cape Cod metal polish with the wool pad and that has worked every time so far.

My black sports band is as good as it was when I got it in March 2017.

Funny to think that the sports band will have a life span that's at least 15 times more than its Watch! It's usually the other way round in watches with any bands that have 'sport/casual' in their name.

It absolutely wears out. Before my current Series 3, I had a S0 and I did not change that stock black band for about two years. The color did not drastically change, but boy did it get stiff and show wear in certain spots. I think with proper care and avoidance of excess sweat, you should be able to keep its day one feeling - just don't expect it to keep with normal daily usage.
