I use ClickToFlash, and video sites aside, I don't really miss it.
I did this, but I'd like to see the response. And I'm not talking about the iPhone, iPod touch, etc
I've lasted ever since Click To Flash came out. I don't miss it one bit - in fact I get annoyed at work when I have flash adverts everywhere.
I ask:
How long can you last without Real Player being supported in Snow Leopard?
I ask:

Have you tried?
I use GlimmerBlocker for ads and CLick2Flash to block flash.
Flash is widely used but it's losing ground (source: Daring Fireball).
I know many people can't live without it but it's a matter of waiting for developers to stop using flash.
Before Flash was used mostly to show an ugly and stupid presentation to enter a website. It got widely used when websites started the video format wars. You had quicktime, realplayer, vmw...
At that time most people used Desktops and videos where small resolution. Nobody knew/cared about optimization/cpu consumption. Today notebooks are more used and battery life is important.
New technologies are arriving to substitute Flash. They are better and exist now. You just have to wait for developers to adapt. Youtube and Vimeo are already pushing html5 in their videos, so we should expect for other big and small websites to follow.
Flash video is dying SOON. What about games? That's another story.
Yes?
I am three trillion years old and so far no problems.
No.
Flash sucks, so click to flash does not make it suck any less.
That is like should we let our kids use drugs. No we should not let them do drugs, unless they want to use drugs, and in that case we should then let them use drugs.
So you didn't last very long I guess.
I'll be happy when Flash has gone the way of IE6. .
I suppose you're trying to make some kind of point. Well done. I'll be happy when Flash has gone the way of IE6. If the increase in the number of devices like the iPad that do not support Flash hastens its demise, I'm all for it.
You mean widely used, widely supported, and a requirement for lots of enterprise and in house/custom software, much to the despiar of sys admins everywhere?
I'm just saying if the content is what you wanted, you didn't care that it was flash....or you wouldn't have used it.
I don't like flash....it hits my CPU hard, but there are times where I don't mind. I'm watching TWIT live right now.
Actually, I do care and I will continue to advocate the use of better alternatives.
