How many days of sleep are people getting with the 14” before the battery goes to zero? I’m only getting like four or five. My Intel machines can go a month in sleep mode. Wondering if there’s something wrong with my 14”.

Question, why do you need more than 5+ days on sleep? Wouldn't it make sense to do a complete shutdown instead?
Because I can’t predict how long it’s going to be before I next use the computer. It might be a couple hours or it might be a couple weeks. I don’t want to have to wait for 50 tabs to reload in the browser.

Suggestion to OP: next time you don't use it for days or weeks, open Activity Monitor when you do and it'll show you under the Energy tab how long it's been off the charger. And report back.
Sure. I can check that, but I haven't found it useful. I believe I'm getting the same wake reason as this person, and it's waking like every two minutes while in sleep mode: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252061187

I've tried everything in that thread--disabling tcpkeepalive, etc.--and don't have anything connected to the computer.

I would like to get the thread back on topic, though, which is trying to solicit answers to the question of how many days other people's 14" MBPs can sleep before the battery drains completely.

I use my computer a lot but if I happen to have it off the charger for a while I'll report back.

Haven't tried it yet, but it would probably take months too on my M1 Macbooks
At least they don't even seem to lose one single % of charge over a couple of days

FYI, this is the wake reason I get every two to six minutes while the computer is asleep:

DarkWake from Deep Idle [CDN] : due to SMC.OutboxNotEmpty smc.70070000

My brother in Christ, did you Google this error?

One person says this is the solution:

I've found out an easier way to sovle this issue:

1.Run command in terminal: sudo pmset -a tcpkeepalive 0

2.Run command in terminal: sudo pmset -a powernap 0

3.Make sure these options is not checked: "System Preferences->Battery->Optimized battery charging" and "System Preferences->Battery->Power Adapter->Wake for network access"

As I noted above, I’ve already tried all that.

This is still a major issue for me. I had my MacBook in sleep for the past seven days beginning with the battery at 100%. Needed to use it this morning, and it was totally drained. Would love to get more actual use data on how long people's batteries are lasting when the computer is just left in sleep mode.

OP, I can tell you that I've left my 14" MBP closed and asleep for up to 8 days before. I believe when I closed the lid it was at about 90% and when I came back after the 8 days it had drained about 20%, maybe a bit more than that. It wasn't even down to 50% though, and I had ALL my stuff open the whole time and I have Power Nap turned ON so that it will run backups and updates while sleeping.

If you're super worried about tabs though, why not just make a tab group with those 25 so they're always ready?

Just a query as im fairly new to Mac's and MBP. I didn't think the MBP14 had power nap feature. If it does can you tell me where please?

My bad--I'm getting two features mixed up.

I have Power Nap turned on under Battery-->Power Adapter so it can wake for network access if it's on a charger.

However, I also have Time Machine set up to wake for backups even on battery power if I have my drive hooked up.

So no, there is NOT power nap on standby battery power as far as I know, but I do have it waking up and doing things during sleep in some situations.

basically he doesnt know when he will need to be on computer again in range hours-weeks , but those 50 tabs better be ready 24/7, not to waste 20 seconds for booting and another couple for reloading tabs
Correct--browser tabs, open files in Word, Excel, Photoshop, etc. My Intel MBPs last several weeks before the battery drains fully in sleep. The 14" doesn't even last one week in sleep.

Where is the option for Time Machine? I don't want it to ever check for Time Machine, if it's on battery power or sleeping.

I have turned off PowerNap in Terminal, but I don't think it's made any difference.

Eight days is way more than I get. Mine now goes from 100% to 0% in four days. How do I make a tab group? I use Chrome and Safari. Will it save everything in each tab? I don't want to just save the URLs and then have them reloaded with whatever is or isn't there when they reload.
