Vis-a-vis camera storage, I sometimes keep one camera (RX10 IV) out on a table to grab quickly so I can run out the deck if there is interesting bird action going on, but we haven't had much of that lately so now it is back in the cabinet with its brethren.

I only use those microfibre pouches when carrying either the small RX100 VII or my iPhone 12 Pro in my purse or bag. They are not cushioned in any way, they only protect the items from scratching and getting dusty. I do have several camera bags in various sizes and configurations that I use when needed, such as traveling or an afternoon photo excursion around my own area.

At home my cameras and lenses live in an armoire, which makes it quick and easy to select what I want to use at any given time. In the past I found that storing camera bodies and lenses in bags makes it all too easy to forget what one has, and I like opening the armoire door and seeing my options and being able to grab something quickly. Sometimes I'll start out shooting with one lens and then start thinking about different approaches with another lens so will grab that lens, swap it with the one on the camera and continue shooting.
You should upgrade to the iPhone 13 Pro. Smaller notch, faster CPU, and the big one better battery life. The 12 was first generation 5G so it had a weak battery. The 13 has a bigger battery.

Thanks, but I'm perfectly happy with my iPhone 12 Pro. I am waiting to see what iPhone 14 Pro will have to offer and may then trade in my iPhone 11 Pro on it, keeping the iPhone 12 Pro as a backup.

nope. real cameras. if i see them i use them. if they are put away i can’t use them.
That’s why we have phones. Phones are good for instant fast shots like if we saw Bigfoot or a UFO. But planned shots and vacations I prefer a real camera.

No notch would be one bet.

Well, that is not WHY we have phones. However it has filled a gap in convenience and spontaneous shooting. If I saw Bigfoot or a UFO I would run for a real camera for sure.

My real Camera is in a case but I always have my phone on me. If a UFO flew in the sky in my area I would prefer Canon but may not have enough time to grab it.

Phones also lack a powerful zoom, don't have as string of a battery for photography, and overheat in the hot sun.

my phone has absolutely overheated in the sun and shut down on me more than once.

and if you leave cameras all over the house one is easy to grab for bigfoot. although odds are it will have the wrong lens attached. ?

How many of those do you still use.

Of those there, a couple of the F2s(the F2sb, F2s, and one with the chimney finder top left, plus the F2AS middle shelf right) get used somewhat often although the F2SB is my favorite of them. The F6(right second shelf dow) is used often. The Hasselblads are used often, or really I should say the 500C(right of the clock) is used often. The 500EL/M has its use for me, namely because it nicely counterbalances the 50mm Distagon where a regular non-motor 500-series body I think is a bit unwiledy with it. Otherwise, though, I more have the EL/M as my representative "moon camera" plus someone pointed out to me a while back how inexpensive the motor bodies are relative to the manual-wind of the same generation(I think I paid $200 or so for that EL/M with a waist level finder, and even the waist level by itself was $100 easily then, probably more now, and when I bought that one a 500 C/M was typically a $500+ camera-doubt you could touch one for anything close to that now).

Sorry I cannot see past the two chrome beauties framing the clock…..

And that is some serious ink collection you have too.

Yes, that's very true-as far as my wife knows they're all cameras that could come into use at anyone one time :)

She doesn't complain too much, especially given that her family has an event photographer on retainer all the time with me :) . Her brother graduated from college yesterday, and I went over and took photos of him with everyone before the ceremony. I was mercifully spared going(limited attendance) so while they were there I worked those up, printed them, and had them ready for the graduation party last night, and then was there to snap photos through the evening.

Of course too when I really started unpacking and setting out all the photo stuff(most of which I've had longer than I've even known her) she started to realize that when I say "No, that's not new, I've had that all along" I am actually telling the truth :) . As an example, just yesterday I actually used my 85mm f/1.8 for the first time-I bought that lens right before COVID started and hadn't done much more than just try it out.

The ink...well MOST of the ink bottles there were less expensive than cameras or lenses usually are. We won't talk about things like the Parker Penman or some of difficult to find Montblanc LE colors.
