Installer was the best. I remember the first tweak I bought was to use the camera as a video recorder and it costed me like $10. Man how times have changed.

I actually really liked rock. You could install tweaks and after you were done you could re spring. It never forced you to leave. And it's ui looked nice unlike Cydia's still terrible ui.

REPRESENT! 1.1.1 that was the firmware I remember haha. of course I remember doing it the old school way and not that lazy one-click crap :p

yeah no one click for us OGs, you used to have to create a custom firmware then restore with that custom firmware, using DFU mode and SSH used to be necessary, lazy kids these days ill tell ya

I know, it amazes me how much trouble people have these days even with how simple the jailbreaks are. I remember how much of a pain it was to reboot a tethered iPod touch 2g back in the day

I have been jailbreaking since 2013 but I've been putting Whited00r on many old iPhones and iPods

I remember JB my 2G iPhone just to get stuff like wallpaper and folders! So much has changed. I'm rocking a stock version 8.1 iPhone 6 right now, and I'm only missing one or two tweaks....

I jailbroke my 3G which was my first iPhone. I think it was pwnage tool I used but it was 6 years so I am a bit hazy!

Yep, took me a bit to go ahead on the first iphone because I was still getting used to it, but I have been doing it on every iphone except 4s.

I think blackra!n was my first jailbreak. Don't know what year that was. What was the jailbreak before that one?

didn't have iPhone but had 1st gen ipod touch remember the days of command prompts to install stuff and setting permissions..... who remembers jailbreakme.com?....... good times

ApolloIM was my favorite app. I came from a Treo 650 with hacked AsiaPacific firmware featuring the closest hacked up thing to Mobile Safari at the time to full blown Mobile Safari with all the trimmings. The only thing we needed was apps at 1.0.

Those were the days. Most of it was free, most of it barely worked, and it was soooo much better than everything else on the market.

Remember this mofo

I would say I started jailbreaking when I had to manually add mail, stocks, maps , weather and notes to my original iPod touch because Apple took the decision not included them (on a +300$ device) at launch until they decided to charge 19.99$ to bring it up to speed with the iPhone. Not even an app store back in the days...Good old times!

Anyway for me jailbreaking started much before the iPhone, only it was called iPod Wizard! Gosh I was 15 years old..Anyone remembers?

yes I remember jobs saying a small nominal fee for the iPod updates haha

I started jail breaking with my ex's iPod Touch 1. No App Store, no wallpaper, no nothing. It was 2008, I believe!

Too bad that thing disappeared. The first time we broke up, she took it with her and when we got back a second time, it mysteriously disappeared ("I'm sure it's in my room somewhere!" - 24 hours after tearing the room inside out).

Part of the many reasons I bailed the 2nd time. Losing a $300+ device like it was nothing? Damn!

Og Checking in.

I remember unlocking the the original iPhone and using 2 sewing needles and a wire to do a commcenter hardware unlock on about 300 phones in 5 days when GeoHot released the first hardware unlock. The Good Old days
