I don't have issues, but I too have the yellow tint problem on my 11-day old 27". I have an appointment tomorrow at the genius bar. I only want them to replace the screen. Mine was a BTO from apple.com. I don't want to wait for a replacement, and doing a repair by swapping out the defective part will satisfy me. Thanks to those above for your comments in response to my earlier question.

What if it does not fix the problem? So, they swap screens till it is fixed?

Once you repair, there is no returning. Also repair doesn't guarantee problem being fixed. But if you are OK with having a new unit, which needed repair(s?) straight form the box, who we are to judge?...

Well I assume that if swapping the screen doesn't fix it, then it's not fixed, which means they'd have to keep trying. I'm not okay with having a defective screen right out of the box, but I feel I'd rather have to deal with one problem on one machine (and them working to get it right) rather than risk another machine which may have a new set of problems like the ones already outlined elsewhere. I have no intention of returning the iMac outright, i.e. I expect them to fix it however long it takes. But sending it back to Apple and waiting a few weeks for another one, with the risk that I may have to do it all over yet again, is outweighed (in my mind) by the relative convenience of having it repaired at the store (presumably a lot faster) to my satisfaction when I know that theis particular machine has no other problems at all.

Maybe I'm being foolish, and again, I'm not ecstatic about the out-of-the-box condition, but to me, replacing just the screen locally is less risky and more under my control than the uncertainty of the other option.

I don't know where did you buy it, but another option could be to talk to the Customer Service and they may let you keep this one, until the new arrives (some people reported having this kind of arrangement).
On the more general level, repairs are supposed to cover for failures during operation of the product, and not as a part of "we didn't test it, since you can always fix it" process. I'd feel being a little bit shortchanged, unless I payed less, than the guys who got a good unit (maybe you should at least ask for a store credit for it?).

Well got replacement number 3 today (21.5") and this one dead pixels close to entre of screen.

Of course it has yellow tinge (they all do so far this refresh) but at this point was prepared to accept that flaw and the crappy seagate and dust under glass and just about anything--- but a big black blob near the middle of the screen is pretty hard to ignore.

....just one more "really unlucky" customer, I guess. :)

Iamthinking

zero for me. my brother and i both got 27" mid-2010's and they are really beautiful. he got his straight from apple and i got mine off ebay.

I just got iMac replacement #3 and it almost, almost acceptable. little sign of yellowing, if any at all.. WD 1TB drive, Optiarc cd/dvd everything is quiet, and looking good............

Then, I spot a cluster of dead pixels about 5" down from the top, and about 5" from the right edge.

So, close...........

Looks like I am in for #4.

Is this what buying a computer has come to?

I will be taking this back to the apple store tomorrow, I hope to have good news tomorrow night.

No kidding. I thought the dead pixel jazz was over about 3 years ago. (at least, I haven't encountered it for quite a few monitor setups-coming from pc world).

My first two units had issues, but dead pixels was not one of them. Well, that is not entirely true, my first unit had a cracked LCD.

I'm on my 4th 21.4 imac...

1st one had a dead pixel in the middle of the screen...

2nd one had a really noisy hard drive, which at the time thought was irregular...

3rd dead pixels...

My current one also has dead pixels but I said ***** it and decided to keep it...

really sick of apple and their BS!
