I wonder if he has to hide it in the attic and sneak up there in the middle of the night to look at it.

I am not answering that question on the grounds I will just make a fool of myself.... and we call it the guest room not the attic thank you.

Beings that Mrs Darmok approved Mr Darmok's G9 purchase, he isn't going to push for any lens upgrades he can't buy with his own fun money.

Come on man! live on the wild side... tease the tiger a bit.... get a cheeky lens in there...

Mine are in my signature, but here you go.

Nikon D750
Nikon D7100
Nikon 70-200mm f2.8,
Nikon 24-70mm f2.8
Nikon14-24mm f2.8
Nikon105mm f2.8 Macro
Nikon 200-500mm f5.6
Nikon 50mm 1.8
Nikon 10.5mm f2.8 Fisheye
Nikon 70-300mm

Notice the theme? I was very lucky to pay a fraction of what most of those lenses are worth.

I will admit that 105mm macro is an absolute belter of a lens. Not been that impressed with a lens since getting my first Summilux.

The good news is the lenses all look the same to your significant other.
So as long as you pay cash, your in the clear!

105 Macro is a favourite. I sold the 60mm as it was too short for insects etc.

2. Sony FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS
3. Sony FE 90mm F2.8 Macro G OSS
4. Zeiss Batis 25mm F2
5. Zeiss Batis 135mm F2.8
6. Sony FE 85mm F1.8
7. Sony FE 50mm F1.8

My ranking is what I use the most to the lens I use the least. Obviously I'm a Sony user, but I'm not a fanboy as I just went with one system as I have two camera bodies the Sony A7RIII and the Sony A9. I didn't want to have two different systems as the lenses are expensive as it is. I have been hemming and hawing about selling my 100-400mm lens, but I like the portability and in my opinion is sharper focusing than the 200-600mm lens. However, the 200-600mm is great on a gimbal for birds-in-flight photography and the 1.4x teleconverter give the lens a little extra reach. The 90mm Macro lens I absolutely love and the sharpness of the lens just blows me away. If anything the lens is too sharp when doing portrait photography, if that is even possible. It sure does show every nook and cranny of a person's face which sometimes isn't a good thing especially when I'm taking a selfie. ? The bottom two lenses I don't use too much as I'm mostly do wildlife photography, but they come in handy from time to time. The Batis lenses are really good, but I probably would buy the Sony equivalent lenses as the AF I think would be faster if I had to do over again. I plan & hope to have this camera gear for years to come and now I can say I can really start concentrating on my photography.
Yes, that 90mm macro deserves an orange G instead of the black G.

I use a Fuji X-T3 and have:

XF 16-55mm f2.8 R LM
XF 50-140mm f2.8 R LM OIS (and XF 1.4x Teleconverter)
Samyang 12mm f2 NCS

I also have the XF 18-55mm f2.8-4 OIS “kit” lens that came with the X-T3. It really doesn’t deserve the “kit lens” moniker because it is actually really good. I prefer the 16-55mm for IQ, but the 18-55mm is far smaller, lighter and has OIS which has been helpful when I was on holiday. I was going to sell it, but my recent Munich trip might convince me to keep it.

Yeah, not all kit lenses are created equal. The 12-60 that ships with some LUMIX cameras is also pretty good, even if it starts at f3.5. I kept mine when I upgraded bodies.

I'm scared to count F mount lenses alone, much less all systems!

I do the easy ones:

Hasselblad V system-4, all Chrome C, 50mm f/4 Distagon, 80mm f/2.8 Planar, 150mm f/4 Sonnar, 250mm f/5.6 Sonnar

Mamiya RB67 System-6, Mixed Vintages, 50mm, 65mm K/L, 90mm K/L, 127mm, 150mm SF, 250mm

Large Format: 75mm Nikkor, 127mm Kodak Ektar, 135mm Wollensak Raptar, 150mm Fuji, 7.5"(190mm) Ilex, 250mm Nikkor. The Nikkors and Fuji are my "modern" lenses with more complicated designs. The others are vintage lenses that are Tessar derivatives.

As I said, I couldn't begin to say how many F-mount lenses I have, and that's only the Nikon brand ones(I don't currently have any 3rd party ones that were bought intentionally). When I'm in a manual focus mood, my kit is often a 20mm f/4 AI, 35mm f/1.4 AI-s, 50mm f/1.4 AI-s, and 105mm f/2.5(Sonnar type chrome nose AI converted). Depending on what I'm doing, I might replace some/any of those with 24mm f/2.8, 28mm f/2.8, 45mm f/2.8(I have both the GN version, AI converted, and AI-P), 55mm f/3.5(I don't like the newer f/2.8 AI-s), 85mm f/2, 135mm f/2.8, and 200mm f/4. There's a few zooms in there too, but we don't talk about those :) . With the Df or non-AI cameras, there are also some interesting looking non-AI lenses at my disposal like the 20mm f/3.5 UD, 5.8cm f/1.4, and 135mm f/3.5.

For digital/modern film my core kit is the 14-24mm f/2.8, 24-120mm f/4, and 70-200mm f/2.8 VR(I). I have a LOT more lenses than this, and just for example I'll often go out on full frame with nothing but a 35mm f/2 D or AF 50mm f/1.4(the one I have isn't even the D version).

I have plenty of other small 35mm systems with their complement of lenses too. More recently, I've been working on my Olympus OM kit, although some of the really interesting lenses for that system are more expensive than what I want to invest in it.

Among others, one of the reasons I decided to make the recent switch that I did was because I am not getting any younger and I was not using many of the lenses that were just sitting around in the various camera bags.... I am at the stage of life where beginning to simplify things is becoming more and more appealing. Somehow for me it makes more sense to just have three lenses and one interchangeable lens camera with which to deal as opposed to fourteen or more lenses and two or three interchangeable lens camera bodies.

I keep buying lenses then selling them a year later after finding I hardly use them.
Without really thinking about it my lens selection has whittled down to 27-50mm and only primes.

On the CL
Leica M Elmarit 2.8 28mm
Leica TL Elmarit 2.8 18mm

I used to own about a dozen Nikon F mount lenses. Over the last eight years I have transitioned to m4/3 and now own the following:
Samyang 7.5mm fisheye
Olympus 9-18mm
Panasonic 20mm f/1.7
Olympus 12-40mm f/2.8
Olympus 45mm f/1.8
Olympus 40-150mm f/2.8 (soon to add the MC-20 2x teleconverter)
Panasonic 45-200mm f/3.5-5.6
- I might add the Olympus 30mm macro, but the 40-150mm f/2.8 is capable of near-macro closeups. The 12-40mm f/2.8 focuses pretty close as well. I still have a Tamron 90mm f/2.8 macro for Nikon F mount that I adapt for m4/3.

I take it you shoot an Olympus body? My O75-300 mkii just arrived today, but I had very little time to play with it.

Do the three lenses on my iPhone 11 pro count? (/me ?s)

Used to own 4 lenses for the F-mount Nikon, including the 10.5 fisheye that was crazy fun, and 105 macro that is just superb glass, but have simplified to the Z6 with the single 24-70 kit lens, which luckily is an amazing lens so I barely miss lugging around the others.

I bet I haven’t used my 10.5 fisheye in 3-4 years.
I really should.

I think I used my fisheye maybe twice and after a while decided that while it was a fun novelty lens, I really was ready to sell it and get something else that would be more useful in my regular photography, so did just that. Didn't miss it, either.....

I think mine cost me £50 or something from work so it owes me nothing. I suppose it will get traded in at some point. I’m in no hurry.

I've made some swapping and I'm down to 2 lenses (once I sell my P45-150, anyway): the wonderful PL12-60 and the O75-300ii. I now have the 35mm equivalent range of 24mm to 600mm in just 2 lenses. :)

I have my kit down to the 16-35/4LIS, 50L, 85/1.4LIS and 100LIS. I had a 200/2.8L but rarely needed the focal length and didn’t care for the 70-200/2.8 versus the fast primes.

I’ve simplified my kit considerably.

24-70 f/4 for hiking/landscape
35mm 1.8 + 85mm 1.8 for people/portrait
50mm 1.8 for walkabout (sometimes the 35 instead)

That covers all my use cases. I’ll rent a tele when needed.

Right now I've just got the three primes and am still getting used to not having a zoom! LOL! The other day I caught myself trying to zoom in on something.....wasn't gonna happen! My next lens will be a zoom, though, probably, but not for a while yet. I'm really loving all three of these primes!

I’ve always been more of a zoom guy than a prime guy.
