I've been disappointed with the Smart Cover. It kind of sucks as a stand (it's always collapsing).
I usually rip the cover right off it I'm going to use it for an extended amount of time.

So, I just picked up the smart keyboard and I also have the ipad pro case. I'm wondering how many people decided to simply use the keyboard cover without the case. The ipad pro gets pretty heavy with both the smart keyboard and case. It also looks like a grey blob aesthetically (unless you go for the white case).

I'm worried about scratching the back. Anyone thought on keep the case folded back and the soft suedish material resting on the table when needed?

The moment you stop worrying about the back is the moment that you start enjoying the beauty of your gadgets.

So I got the Logitech CREATE today...I am not sure I like it. I mean, yeah if I am at a desk it would be fine...but the thing is I am rarely at a desk besides at school. It is not made for lounging around or in bed. I am typing this whole thing on it right now...the keys are weird...it's like I like typing with it but at the same time it feels...hollow when I press a key? And the lack of trackpad is jarring.

I think I'll give this a week...and then come this Saturday, I will make my decision. If I don't like how it is, I will go up to the Apple B&M store and trade it for an Apple Smart Case and Smart Keyboard combo...if I don't like that, I'll take the Smart Keyboard back and get the Smart Cover and use a magic keyboard...=/

Mine is bare while I wait on the cover of my choice (LUVITT transparent case) to be delivered tomorrow. I'm just careful where I set it down to prevent scratches on the back. I also use a stand (Twelve South and Griffin) which helps as well.

Why don't you rest the iPad on the screen side with the Smart Cover on?

only smart keyboard (when arrived) or Smart Cover.
thinking about care+ when the iPad collects scratches.

what do u think about care+? does it cover scratches?

I like it bare but I do have the silicone case and Smart Cover. I like driving games and while I rip the cover off for driving, I actually find the back silicone case makes it almost more comfortable to hold up, driving. So I quite like both parts of the case, so far at least.

I have the Smart Cover, and back protector. I have the Apple keyboard on order. What I'm finding with the Smart Cover is that when I use it rolled into a triangle (low angle as opposed to upright iPP) I'm getting glare off of overhead lights at the top 1/3 of the screen. This happens in my office and at meetings all over campus. Those darn fluorescent lights are a killer on the eyes. To be fair the same thing with my iPad Air 2.

So I've ordered a Sena case that allows for varying angles. I'll just have to anticipate needs and switch out the Apple Keyboard and the Sena as needed.

Jesus. The silicon + Smart Cover is $140 together...

I went naked on mine because I feel the cases cost way too much. It honestly annoys me how much a silicone case even cost. I mean, come on? Apple has always been greedy but the accessories specifically annoy me.

I just paid over $1000 for my 128gb Cellular iPad Pro and the $140 was worth it for me. It fits well and props the Pro up just right in the lap or on a table. Not interested in keyboards as this is really replacing my Air 2 and will be used in my lap most the time with the built in keyboard which is nice.

Accessory selection is pitiful. I figured they'd make the Smart Cover better its still garbage.

Im waiting for a Twelve South surface pad for iPad pro

Can't stand cases. I've tried dozens over the years and find they just add too much bulk and take away from the beauty of the device. I just ordered a Bestskinsever and plan to use a smartcover with it to prop it up for typing and watching videos. When I want to relax on the couch or in bed with it, I'll just remove the smartcover. I find this is the perfect combination. It adds very minimal bulk, provides some much needed grip and prevents scratches. I've used this combo with my iPad 4 and 3 and both are still in mint condition.

Mine is rocking the silicone case and Smart Cover. Got to say I'm very pleased with them, beautifully made, feel great, and.... Smart!

How many of you all using the iPad Pro bare, without any sort of cover.

For me, I only use a MacBook 13' sleeve.

+1 for the sleeve. I just don't feel ok carrying it in a bag without a sleeve, but I'm still looking for a nice one. I may consider getting something for the back so I can place it on a desk without the fear of scratching it - but if it's the same material as my iPhone 6, the back should be fine even bare.

Screen protectors, on the other hand? Just no.

Mine's naked at the moment but I bought an eBay smart cover case with some back protection. I would use it naked if it had a kickstand but need something to prop it up sometimes.

I just got the smart case today in the mail and my iPad is now complete. I effing LOVE this iPad!! Now that it is fully protected, and being able to use the Smart Cover as a prop, I can easily type on the software keyboard while lying directly in bed with it on my chest. I'm typing as fast as I type on a physically keyboard while sitting up right now.

A few weeks ago I made the decision to go naked on my iPhone 6S and my iPad Air 2. I'd previously had the Apple cases for both.

The iPhone 6S is a thing of incredible beauty. It's a crime to cover it up. Even with an Apple case. Now, every time I use my 6S I get a pang of delight at how lovely it is. Seriously. It's like I've acquired a brand-new phone. I'm trying to be hyper-careful with it, obviously, but the risk of injury is worth it for me. It's just such a nice object to look at and to hold.

The iPad Air 2 doesn't really do it for me, beautywise. And it seems a bit lost without some kind of case. But the Apple Smart Case seems to make it look flat and lifeless. In the end, I took a Stanley knife to the Smart Case and threw away the part that covers the screen. In other words, I just have a leather back and edge to my iPad. I really like how that looks and feels. (It's actually the equivalent of the Apple case for an iPhone, really.)

I'm still on the fence over buying an iPad Pro. It's hard to justify at present. I think the Apple keyboard case is shockingly ugly. And expensive. I have a conspiracy theory that they deliberately made it ugly and expensive to force you to use the on-screen keyboard and use the device as Jobs intended.

I ordered rush delivery of a Smart Cover while I await the elusive keyboard, because the Pro is (IMO) almost unusable without a Smart Cover (which can easily be replaced by Smart Keyboard).
