This is the main strength of the iPad over a netbook. You can pick it up and you are a finger swipe away from browsing, gaming, emailing, book reading...whatever. I had a MB Pro and ended up selling it. Getting it out, booting it up, dealing with the size and weight. It just seemed like a hassle for casual use, so I sold it. This is of course not mentioning the fact that it only had wifi, as I don't have nor want to invest in an air card.
I'm kind of confused about this entire thread. I'm not sure who spends hundreds of dollars on a device, only to use it a couple of times and take the hit on a return. I've been to the Apple store/Best Buy a few times, to ensure that I like the device and that it could integrate into my daily life, before making a purchase. I would surmise that everyone does this to ensure a purchase, but perhaps not.
