Where Judas lost it's boots.
I really don't like android owned a few devices but had problems with all of them (software wise mostly) yet I don't own an iPhone nor a windows phone.
I own an old school blackberry that suites me just fine: it makes calls, text messages and email and the battery lasts 3 to 4 days. For my smart needs I have my iPad, or my laptop that I usually carry with me (programming).

So far I don't have any motive to ditch my 3 year old blackberry, as long it works and the battery lasts and the software isn't crappy (as in unstable / slow) I don't really care anymore.

The only platform that I haven't tried yet is the windows phone 7 and up.

Edit: I'm not a 3 year blackberry user only for a few months and I have used android 1.6, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 and 4.0.

I have a Macbook Pro, iMac, iPads, iPhone, iPods etc but recently I found myself wanting a change with regards to my phone. I was tempted to by the Galaxy S3 but in the end after using one I got a Samsung Galaxy note II (mainly for the bigger screen).

I'm in a fairly similar boat - Happy owner of several Macs + iPod Touch + iPad 1 + iPad 3 + Apple TV but somehow avoided buying an iPhone. I assumed that I'd succumb to an iPhone eventually, but somehow I always convinced myself to wait for iPhone N+1. Instead I got a HTC Hero with Android - which was cheaper, and unlike the iPhone available as an upgrade on my current carrier but, more importantly, I already had one iOS device (the iPod Touch) and I fancied something different.

When this September rolled around I was all set to get an iPhone 5... then I unwittingly upgraded my iPad to iOS 6, fired up Maps, hit Satellite and... saw a grainy black and white image of a cloud bank where my house used to be. I don't want to re-open the Maps flamewars (and Apple have now fixed the rubbish "satellite" data for the UK) so let's just say that whatever the truth, first impressions count. The new connector was also an annoyance (not a deal-breaker but I already have a dock and several 30-pin cables) as was the fact that I hate iCloud and it's file-silo approach.

I considered a Nexus but only 16GB and no SD card was a dealbreaker, I was going to wait for the new Nexus (which at the time was rumored to have an SD card) but got sold on the Note II. Yes, it's big, but it still fits in a pocket and the screen completely transforms the phone's usability as an internet appliance or an ereader.

I don't think Android is quite as good as iOS a media player (unless you want obscure formats not supported by Apple) because the iTunes ecosystem works so nicely for Music and Video (even when it's not bought from the iTunes Store). However, for everything else I find Google services and Dropbox preferable anyway.
