Answer the poll, and then describe any additional information you'd like to say in a forum post.

I use it and read every new entry from its Blog as well as Talospace. I also use the lesser-known TenFourFoxBox. Love the built-in lower-level basic adblock feature (not plug-in, which means it's lighter, although it actually complements adblocking plug-ins when used in conjunction).

Use it for most things PPC web based except YT videos. That function goes to roccat w/ a mobile UA. Blue Hell firewall does a great job dismantling unwanted cpu eating ads in TFFx for me. I sacrifice some speed for stability, customization & ongoing support.

It's my go-to default browser on anything PowerPC. Other browsers fill in the gaps for stuff that TFF doesn't do well, like YouTube. But I don't feel quite secure on anything else, so for anything like shopping or online banking TenFourFox is a must.

I grabbed an iMac G4 from eBay recently, and after upgrading memory and storage, I needed an working browser.

OK. Then download TenFourFox at TenFourFox.com. The downloads are near the bottom.
You might notice that there are two versions for the G4 (7400 and 7450). If you don't know which one to choose, then open Terminal and type "machine".
Afterwards, go to Macintosh Repository and Macintosh Garden to look for old software.

Sorry, I just corrected my post: I already have TFF.

Because it is the best browser for PowerPC Macs!

That is subjective. FF45 (FPR's base, no matter how much is added) is getting older and is getting less acknowledged by more websites, the interface is slow, and it isn't as lightweight as it can be.

Choice is a good thing.

When it comes to PowerPC Linux it's not.

Cheers

OK. But with PowerPC Mac OS it is.

If you have a PowerPC Mac, it's a good idea to have Mac OS installed on it. If you prefer Linux instead, then dual-boot Mac OS and Linux.

Why should one dualboot if Linux is the preferred OS?

Frankly, this thread sounds like you want to shove MacOS and TFF down everyone's throat, regardless of their preference/motives. Apart from the fact this is a horrible way of handling matters, I fail to see the point of it.

OK. If you use Linux only, then you can keep using Linux only. I won't care about TenFourFox then. I'll add the option "I'm using Linux" to the poll. (Update: Added!)

However, people running Mac OS should get TenFourFox.

I use TenFourFox when browsing on my 12" iBook G4 (newest model from 2005). The answer to "Why not Leopard Webkit?" is that it's not running Leopard.

Guys, lol, c'mon now, it's just a harmless thread asking who uses TFF or not, that's all. There's even a "I know it but don't use it" option, so I don't see the OP forcing it onto anyone. All I see is someone enthusiastic about TFF's feats and its enormous relevance to the PowerPC Mac OS X platform. Not that anyone should or should not use GNU/Linux, or Mac OS X, or TFF or something else, be it on PowerPC or otherwise.

Seems like just a "curiosity pool" to me.

No. I'm not enforcing a browser, just quietly recommending one.

It's completely OK even if you never heard of it before. We're just learning!

A. They don't use modern web technologies

Wrong. Leopard WebKit while not updated in 10 months is far more advanced than TFF. It's based on safari 11 which is way newer than FF45. Web standards-wise its years ahead. Its just lacking in newer security updates. IceWeasel is based on TFF code and the Arctic Fox PPC OSX port is also partially based on TFF code.

Cheers

Not things based on TFF. TFF itself.

Didn't Cameron Kaiser update the HTML, CSS and JavaScript parsing/behavior to be up-to-date with current-ish standards?

It's possible that it's updated to FF48 era standards. You need a minimum of FF52.9 to be even remotely current with today's web, which it isn't.

Cheers

Also, TFF doesn't support Java, Flash, or plugins?
