Hmm, so i will go for a 9400 then. I always liked them and maybe the only Nvidia GPU that was reliable after the intel transition.
The integrated 9400M isn’t the most beefcake GPU ever, clearly, but it is dead reliable and it runs quite cool. I honestly much prefer integrated GPUs in AIO machines and laptops simply because I’ve worked on entirely too many dead ones to trust them at all :(

My dads 2009 iMac is still going strong with two hard discs (one is a ssd) and an unsupported Catalina install. Not a single issue. We replaced the optical drive with a ssd just for the OS and main programs. The original HD was replaced (defective) with a similar one, and holds the whole personal stuff. So far so good.

My dads 24 2009 imac is still going strong. Catalina patched. Its on everyday and he uses for the same stuff he does on his 2011 Mini, also Catalina.

We still use a 2009 24" iMac in our bedroom as a media player, mainly with the Apple remote and Kodi, since the 8:5 aspect ratio works well with both new (16:9) and old (4:3) movies/tv without too much wasted screen space for either.

Isn't this thread already in the early intel forum? I guess people could still find it direct by search...

I had one that worked great until it didn't. It would just spontaneously shutdown during the day. I hated to get rid of it, but it wasn't stable. I used it in the kitchen for movies and recipes, and weather tracking in storm season. I kinda miss the size of it. Swapped an old 27" in that spot, and it's 'big'...:D
