I'm kinda curious as to what prompted this question or how many times he does or has heard to...
 
I'm pretty sure he doesn't mean "Restore", if he did ... I believe he would have said "Restore" and not "Reset".

I personally reset ( or power cycle ) my iPhone after every app I install. Maybe it's just in my mind, but the apps seem to run much smoother that way.
 
Assuming the OP meant "restore," I have done that twice since I bought my 3G S back in July. Both times I thought I was having issues syncing it with iTunes, but turned out it was just my ignorance. :D
 
Some of the big app developers (large games and other things over 10 MB) suggest restarting after installing.

It's not superstition. I have noticed the bigger apps crash a lot until you've restarted the phone.

Thats restarting, the OP is talking about a reset as in restoring the phone, back to factory settings.
