How many times have you dropped your iPhone?

I have dropped my iPhone twice. The first time was one week after I got it and it slipped off my belt  and hit the concrete putting a hicky on it's side.
Boy was I pissed off!!!:mad::mad:

The second time I had the phone in my lap while I was getting out of the car and it slipped and hit the driveway putting another scratch on the top.

Both of these times I had my iPhone in a holster case!

I have a Griffen Elan leather holster that I bought from Apple that the phone slides into protecting the front and back and the bottom half of the outside edge. It seems that the iPhone is a little top heavy and likes to land on the top sides where this case doesn't protect it very well.

It was bound to happen sooner or later, I just wish that it had happened much later.

Interesting about the weighting and the way you have seen it fall. Maybe case makers should do more drop tests to improve the protection factor.

I dropped mine today. It fell on its top left hand corner and there is a dent in the aluminium.
:-( :-( :-( They shouldn't have made the body out of something so easily dentable. Everyone is worried about the glass, and the aluminium body is what is more likely to dent or scatch!!

the back of the phone is NOT i repeat NOT made of aluminum, it is made of a high quality PVC type plastic, most likely some kind of thermally conducting type as it seems to spread heat very well, i have taken exact measurements of the back of my iphone case, and am in the process of finding a block of high qulity Stainless Steel or Titanium, whichever comes first, then sticking the correct numbers and whatnot into my buddys CnC machine, and milling out a new back that is not only stronger than anything you can buy OEM but looks ****ing sick as hell to boot!

I just took a little snoozer and had a nightmare that I was riding my bike while talking on the iphone and it took a spill and I looked back and it was all slo-mo spinning on it's face across the pavement. Pretty bummed. When I woke up I was a little worried about it still, looked over and there was she was, all minty in the dock!

None *knocks on wood*

I feel sorry for irmatt, maokh, MBHockey, and Wild-Bill's iPhones (5+ drops).. hopefully they are OK. :)
