Down south
I’m torn. On one hand I’d love to go XS Max, but otoh I know my 8+ is just fine. I’m on the Apple upgrade plan so it’s really no biggie one way or the other - not like it’ll cost me a ton.

The phones are absolutely stunning, and I’m thinking I may as well get on the Face ID bandwagon sooner rather than later, but I wonder if it would be really dumb to upgrade.

I AM 99% sure I’m going for the new watch.

Im most likely going with the Xr this year! It has everything I want and I don't really care about OLED. But I might wait until next friday and see them in person and decide.
[doublepost=1536784041][/doublepost]I will definitely be upgrading to AW series 4 at tax return time.

While I have both the 8 Plus and the X, my 8 Plus is on iUP. So I'll definitely be trading in my 8 Plus and get the XS Max.

I’ve already been pre-approved for my loan and eligible for upgrade. Soon as 12:01 hits I’m pressing that button. 256gb XS Max space gray.

Me too, and I already put in all my phone details, so I’m ready.

And I was second-guessing myself, but I just went and looked at the comparison, and why wouldn’t I get a phone that is basically the same size but with a full inch more screen real estate? I mean it really won’t cost me but a few more bucks a month since I had the 256 8+ and I’m going with the 64 Max (not even using 30gb of my 256). Kind of a no brainer.

8+ on AUP. Was all-in on going X+ pre-event but prices are kind of nuts. Like the Xr but can’t see going lower resolution than I have today. I tried the 8 and returned it for this reason. No hurry to decide. Need to see Xr in person.

If I had an 8 I don’t think I would upgrade ... then again, the new offerings are tempting. Glad I didn’t buy last year!

I bought the 8+ because I didn't want the first gen of the X. Now that the Xs Max is here I figure, like Trump says, what the hell do you have to lose?! So my son gets my 8+ and I get an Xs Max.

I bought the 8+ with plans to skip upgrading this year (didn’t wanna give up my Touch ID, nor did I want a smaller phone - I like my pluses), but then they had to go and make that Max and put all that extra screen on a plus sized phone, and I just don’t think I can resist.

I need help picking. Either the xs or the max. Got the 8+ and I love the size of the screen. I don't care about paying $5 more on my att bill to get the max. but who here is getting the xs and not the max and why. that is what I want to know.

Going for the XS from an 8 Plus.

I’ve liked having a larger screen but in truth it’s larger than I really need and i’m sick of the sheer heft of Plus devices. For my needs, the screen size of the XS will do just fine and there’s no additional benefit for going for the Max (camera enhancements etc).

I get what you are saying and I think I would like the xs it's only 0.3 bigger than the 8+ but I can't help but think I won't like the xs because the body is smaller but the screen is bigger.

You also need to bear in mind that although the XS is diagonally larger than the 8+, the actual measurements are taller and narrower resulting in a different aspect ratio. It depends on what you use the phone mostly for as to how noticeable this is to you.

I would recommend you watch some of the videos on YouTube about the iPhone X screen size from last year to decide whether it works for you.

I'm 99.9% sure I won't be upgrading my 256GB 8 Plus and Watch Series 3. The phone is halfway paid off... meaning by this time next year I can sell it and apply the funds to a new model. It still performs flawlessly... as does the Watch.

I have an amazing 65" OLED TV... and while OLED is the absolute best tech for home theater... I really don't care about it on my phone. I'm good with Touch ID another year as well.

Camera on the phone? Could care less. I have a Panasonic GH5 and multiple lenses that I use for stunning photos and 4K 60 fps video. It destroys anything you can do on a phone camera for obvious reasons. All I use my phone camera for is quick shots I don't really care about... LOL.

All that being said... I see no reason to upgrade.

Upgrading from an 8 Plus to Xs. Silver 256 GB. Had the 6+ before and then the 8+. Love the big screen but really missing the smaller form factor.

Tired of the giant iPhones, so I bought an iPhone SE from Consumer Cellular. Should last me for a few years at least. Maybe by then Apple will offer another smaller phone.

The new iPhones hold little appeal for me as I am a very casual user and don't require a lot of power.

I’m going to but can’t figure out if silver or black will hold up better scratch wise.

I have an 8+. If I were buying a phone today I'd just buy another 8+. The only phone being offered that has a wider display is the Xs Max. As someone who uses landscape mode a lot I don't think I can move to a screen that will be physically shorter in that dimension. My old eyes don't really want a higher ppi either.

I'm far more attracted to the new watch than I am the new phones.
