As a iPhone owner that tries to use all aspects of what makes the iPhone great, has combed neatly through the appstore for any valuable apps. In the process, it's cost me a lot of money.

One thing that is really making me worry about the iPad is that I'm going to have to do this all over again. I have 700$ to blow for a pad, but I don't have tons of money to spend on the same apps all over again. I realize that not all developers will charge twice, while some others will. I also realize that due to the larger size of the iPad, iPad apps will tend to be more expensive. Overall, I'm just trying to get a feel of how much people have already spent on apps that they feel essential.

The App store has alot of apps that are alike and are repetitive. Apple needs to start combing them down to where theres no duplicate kind of apps, like 15 different flashlite apps for example.

I've spent easily over $100 on Apps. Some of which work for both the iPhone I really wasn't turned on to. Got a few Apps doe learning for my kids and the rest are games and of course Pages and Numbers.

Plants Vs Zombies is my favorite. My kids love the read alongs.

I feel bad to be one of two people to have picked over 300$. I can safely say though that 250 of the 300 were gifts. I have been saving them up for the iPad release from my birthday.

$26. Pages, MLB At Bat, Goodreader.

Waiting for more games to come out/prices to drop.

A little over 50 .
I should remove my card from my account .
its to easy to click the install thing twice and enter password.

Must stop being stuff.
Fight the urge

50 bucks so far

Pages
Things for iPad (already have the iPhone and Mac versions)
Goodreader
Scrabble for iPad (already have the iPhone version of this as well)
John Sandford Chosen Prey (iBook)

I am waiting for many of the iPhone paid apps that I currently own to be available in iPad versions.

I wish there were more providers offering incentives for loyal customers who are interested in standardizing across multiple owned devices.

Anyone complaining about the cost of apps, after buying the iPad, is either very short-sighted or dense. Apple products aren't for broke people.

Same goes for people who complain about:

the keyboard
the weight
the fragility of the unit
the fact that fingerprints show on the glass
the fact that there is no accessible file system
the fact that it doesn't charge on non or under powered USB ports
lack of printer support out of the box

And a myriad of other "problems" with the iPad. No one shoved the thing down these people's throats, you are free to check into any and all of this before buying one.

(not directed at you, OP, just in general)

Only Apple fans...

would be excited about this subject. Some kind of masochism. Have you ever seen people on other forums discussing how much they spent on, say, buying software for Windows? Normal people simply do not do this. What's the point?
