would be excited about this subject. Some kind of masochism. Have you ever seen people on other forums discussing how much they spent on, say, buying software for Windows? Normal people simply do not do this. What's the point?

the point is to get an idea on how much money the average user spends on apps so I know about how much I would spend if I got one. It has nothing to do because I'm somehow giddy-fanboy curious or something.

So normal people come into threads they aren't interested in and take a dump all over everyone elses conversation? Did I get that right?

I haven't purchased any iPad apps yet. Mostly just playing a few of the universal games I already have and using some of the neat free apps. There are some games I am very interested in but they seem high priced for the content they include. I'd gladly pay $15 for a full game but not for iPhone games that are merely higher res.

well, I gotta be honest here, I have more than 400 Apps for my iPhone, and I still haven't paid a single penny! :p and if you're wondering; no, not a single one is a flashlight/fart/useless apps.
I just keep a watch on Appshopper for price changes and a lot of cool and useful apps have gone free for limited times...
also, I always keep a watch on the "Promo Code Sharing" part of this forum, for example, I just got 'Weather HD' for the iPad for free
And, the only thing I said I would buy on the iPhone would be a GPS Navigator w/ turn-by-turn... but Magellan had a contest and I won their app for free!! :D
so, for the iPhone I never bought an App, and may never need to.
and I'm gonna be doing the same for the iPad. because I know if I start buying apps, I'll be spending more than planned...

$23 so far, but there were several iPhone apps I already owned that got updated to Universal versions as well.

I have already brought a few apps that are on launch special and about 5 of the 70 iPod touch apps I have are universal. I've spent about £10 and the iPad hasn't even got a release date for the UK...

Yeah I probably wouldn't have spent near as much as i did if I actually had to pay for all those iTunes cards i got so i can definitely understand your logic. I'm down to about 180$ now and i think im goin to save the rest for when useful apps come out and 4.0 in the fall.

Goodreader
Jump - because i had an immediate need.

Set up a iPad rss feed and have picked up more then a few free apps as prices are dropped.

I've spent a little less than $30 on apps so far. I spend more time sorting through that apps versus buying them.

99c on goodreader, that's it. :D

I put myself in the 0$ spent cos that's more accurate than $1-$50 ;)
