the first month i got my phone (when the 3g came out last year), I got a little carried away with the apps, probably spent 50-60 dollars. 1.99 here, 5.99 there, and it really added up quicker than I thought. So I told myself I'd never buy another app again.

Since then I bought a guitar tuner app because the alternative was going out and actually buying a guitar tuner, so i can justify buying that app. Other than that, I've only been downloading free apps :)

Maybe $20. All the apps I really need and use are free, so I just wait for games to go on sale to pick them up.

Edit: Not to go too far OT, but I'm sure I would have spent more if there was a return policy to try out apps. Some apps look cool, and I know the rating system is messed up, but I'm just not going to blow $5 on every app I think might end up being useful.

How much have you spent on apps now that a year has pretty much gone by?

There isn't any "easy" way to tell, is there? Besides going back and counting up? I've spent a fair but not ridiculous amount. I think the purchased games I have are...

Rolando - $5.99
Spore - $9.99
Brothers in Arms - $9.99
Hero of Sparta - $9.99
Ferrari GT - $5.99
Castle of Magic - $5.99
Toy Bot Diaries 1-3 - $2.97
Bobby Carrot - $7.99
iDracula - $0.99

I think that's it... looks like just under $60, plus tax of course.

40 to 60 bucks, I try to use the free apps and then maybe I'll be willing to pay for something. I have jumped at some impulse buys but in general I try to keep my buying in check

About $20.

Bought Scrabble $9.99 , text free $5.99 and zombie attack like 4.99 or something

£49.89

so around $90? working on the basis a $0.99 app is £0.59 here.

got like £57.64 credit now though ;D

Probably about $50. Maybe as much as $60. There are a couple more apps I'm going to get here soon with the intro of 3.0.

For the people who have yet to buy an app, is it because you're too cheap? Or because you're pirating the apps? I'm really curious to find out.

because they are too cheap? maybe they just don't see any apps that are worth purchasing for their needs.

Probably about eight .99 cent apps: $8
Portfolio Live for stocks: $6
iExpenseit: $5
Spore: $10 (regretting that one)
SplashID (best app): $10

Couple others. $40-60?

Probably close to $100. I have the Sims 3, Tiger Woods golf, Beejive, some cheap $1 apps, etc. I don't mind paying $100 a year for quality software. Most of the free stuff out there is so, blah. Quality developers deserve kudos in the form of $.

$20. Not much worth buying, if there is, its very expensive. Hoping for a drop on the apps I want, slingbox, logmein and foreflight weather =D.
