Just curious, how did you get unlimited mins for your single line with AT&T?

Wife and I are on the AT&T Next 18 plan. We upgrade our phones once every two years. We have 15GB of shared data (use about 11GB to 12GB every month consistently). I have an iPhone 6s Plus (64GB) and wife has an iPhone 6s (64GB). We usually hand-down our phones to our parents once we upgrade.

Our monthly bill including our phone installment payments and my work FAN discount (18%) is $185. I can't help but think that almost $200 a month is too much for cellphones. But when I tried to price the same plan at other carriers (T-Mobile, Verizon, Google Fi even), there is not much savings to be had...maybe $10-15 if that.

Is this the new normal folks...Paying close to $100 per person for a cell phone plan with enough data to do pretty much anything and a top of the line smartphone? I just wish cell phone plans were a bit more cheaper.

Since my boyfriend and I are small biz owners, we are eligible for Harbor Mobile's plans, which are super cheap. The thing you give up is eligibility for upgrades and international roaming, but in turn, you get huge savings. I pay $30 flat for 2.5 GB of data. My boyfriend pays $53 flat for 10 gigs... So not bad at all.

Two iPhones on AT&T (free and clear). We share 5GB of data (with rollover), unlimited talk and text for $100.48 (including taxes) monthly. It is the lowest I have been able to negotiate them to.

6 lines on tmobile with unlimited calls, text and unlimited data for $210 a month.
No current payments on any of our phones.
Those are usually around $20-30 per device I think.
So no, $100 per person doesn't sound right to me.

1 line, Verizon. I'm in the loyalty program and I pay $60 with tax for 1 GB. Still a ripoff, although when I signed my contract I was paying $80 for 500 MB.

I can't WAIT to be with StraightTalk. 5 gigs at high speed and then UNLIMITED data afterwards. Even T-Mobile would be cheaper. All I know is that I'm done with Verizon forever in August.

You need to separate the cost of your phones from the service to compare Apples to Apples. Around $70 of that monthly cost is for your devices (AT&T Next breaks the payments over 24 months and lets you trade it in after 18)....which would be the same if you went through another carrier or Apple. So you're paying around $115 a month for unlimited minutes/texts and 15 gig of data....

Could probably get something somewhat cheaper with T-Mobile or Sprint, but there is is a tradeoff for what you'd save. Or you could payoff the remainder of your device and look for more creative unlocked options. But again, there is a trade off involved...

4 lines with T-Mobile (2 voice, 2 data only): iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s+, 2 iPad Air 2's.
• Unlimited talk, text, data.
• 7GB tethering per voice line
• 5GB tethering per data line

$270 (approximate) per month. This includes our EIP and lease payments. Once those are done with the bill should drop significantly as then we will only be paying for service.

I am using Straight Talk. $46.20 total a month - unlimited talk, text and data (after 5GB high speed, it is throttled, though). Great service. Never have any problems.

$86 for 2 phones 2gb shared data (we never use more than 1gb max as we almost always on wifi if using internet) even this I will slash by switching soon to $75 for 3 phones family plan for 3 gigabytes with metroPC. ATT is very expensive and I hate all those hidden little fees. I prefer flat tbill tax included bills so will switch to metroPC. And I never understood why should we pay various companies taxes (e.g., phone, electrical etc) they should pay their own taxes; ridiculous system

To those who have upgraded to the iPhone SE on contract... Did you have to purchase a more expensive plan?

Edit: I probably should have been more specific. This question goes out to all my Canadian friends on the Rogers network.
