4gb is the PERFECT amount of ram for every machine I run (iMac, Blackbook). I think the people that buy a 4gb module and 2gb module for their Macbook Pros (since, yes, the MBP WILL show 6gb ram) are being idiotic. Look at your total RAM usage every now and then. I bet you RARELY get about 2.5gb. You use alot less RAM than you think...I promise.
Oh! AND you lose dual channel support. It's better to run (2x2gb) vs (1x4gb and 2xgb). Guaranteed you're not using all the RAM you THINK you are, so you might as well gain the benefits of dual-channel.
