I'm about 98% in OS X, and 1% each in Windows 7 and Ubuntu Linux.

I was lucky to get a full retail copy of Win7 through work (because I definitely wouldn't have purchased a full $300 license for the little time I'm actually in Windows), and the only reason I have it is to simply keep up with the new features and keep me current with the OS for my customers.

I loved Windows XP - thought it was the best OS Microsoft had put out, and Vista ultimately made me switch. I'm glad, because once I went to OS X, I realized how much easier, intuitive, and more powerful/stable/secure it is than Windows.

Linux is, in its own way, very similar to OS X (and I've used it on and off since the early 90's), so I like keeping up with that OS as well.

All my day to day activities are done in OS X though, and will be for the foreseeable future. The only way I'd ever consider going back to a PC is if Microsoft finally wised up and built their OS on top of some variant of UNIX and got rid of that damned registry.

Well I have Windows 7 and Snow Leopard right now.

With Snow Leopard as buggy as it is, I find myself spending most of my time in Windows.

Windows 7 "Just Works"

Snow Leopard = Piece of Garbage right now

I have not encountered any problems in the 4 months I have been running Windows 7 except for the Nvidia 9600M GT Driver bug that freezes Windows, which I have fixed using Rivatuner.

Snow Leopard... where do I begin?
  1. Expose bug
  2. Jumpy trackpad
  3. Safari Crashes
  4. Unresponsive Finder
  5. Time Machine freezes
  6. No network folders
  7. Pages crashes
  8. Firefox crashes
  9. NTFS 3G wasn't working, but now is
  10. Kernal Panics
  11. Wifi issues
  12. Bluetooth issues
  13. General system slowdowns
  14. Slow application launches
  15. System Preferences crash
  16. Decreased battery life (Only 3 hours when 10.5 had 5 hours)

There's more, I just can't think of them all.

For now, Windows 7 is my primary choice. It still has horrible battery life, but someone *Cough* Apple *Cough* doesn't implement any battery saving features in its emulated Bios to help Windows get over 1:30 of battery life.

I'll probably use Win 7 a bit more for novelty value, then I'll go back to my usual usage pattern i.e. using it to test webpages when needed.

I don't have much Windows software and don't see any real advantage for what I need from my computer. If I was starting from scratch though the gap is certainly closing.

They're punishing you for spending too much time there :p

Because of my work and software needs I have to run windows on my Mac as well. I'm curious,

1. How much time you all spend working in Windows compared to OS X?

2. Do you think you'll spend more time in Windows after 7 is released?

3. Anyone here spending the majority of their time in Windows?

4. Anyone running 'only' windows on their Mac hardware?

1) About 50/50 even... except on weekends, then more like 80 Windows/20 Mac cause of Games.

2) I'm using Windows 7 right now

3) Read #1

4) Nope. Dont think I can live without OSX right now lol.

ЧИКАГО!
How much time do I spend in Windows?
As little as possible!
Time spent in Windows (at home, on my system): 2% on a bad month
Time spent on OSX 98%, 100% on a good month.

Do I think that the release (escape?) of Windows Seven will affect the amount that I use Windows?
Probably not. I did a pre-order months ago for curiosity's sake. I will give it the chance to prove itself. The Beta seemed decent at least.

Am I spending the majority of my time in Windows?
Thankfully not.

Would I run only Windows on my Mac hardware?
Not unless it becomes apparent that OSX is part of a communist plot or an alien invasion.
What a waste of perfectly good hardware!

I'm running Snow Leopard here just fine. Only one annoying issue with the Adobe Reader plug-in for Safari.
It's the best initial release of an OS I've seen so far. ( I was there for Win95, 98, ME, XP and Vista's first days)

Snow Leopard: Just Works over here, hardly any bugs.

Windows Seven: We'll find out in a few days, won't we?
It hasn't been released yet, remember? Or was that "Escaped"? ;)

Wait and See,
Keri

Much more. Yes. Yes. Yes.

It's not really weird cause I use Windows for gaming and I game a lot more than anything else on the computer.
