I've had my MBA since July and the only time I've missed having a superdrive is when I wanted to make a mix cd for a lady I was trying to snatch. Luckily I have access to my roommate's macbook.

I think the combination of remote disc and renting movies from iTunes fulfills most of my needs.

How often do you really use CDs, anyway?

I own 2 notebooks within built in cd drives - MB Air and Dell D430 (work) andd have never needed the drive. I promised myself that I would wait until the first instance that I needed to use it and then buy it. I recommend everyone do the same.

I only reason I could think it to watch dvd movies. However, when I travel, I simply rent 2 movies through iTunes for when I get stuck in the airport.
