I just logged into Windows for the first time in two weeks on my iMac. You wouldn't believe how many updates I had to go through to get everything patched back up!

I believe there were 14 or 16 security updates for Windows and 5 for Office 2003. Crazy stuff. I've been spoiled with OS X!

Tools are tools

It´s fairly easy to say that I use Windows XP about as much as OSX. Mainly because there is no Adobe CS2 Universal suite . I checked the PS-CS2 speed difference on my MBP17" with 2Gigand a 100/7200 disk+an external LaCie Triple extreme 500 as swapdisk (see other thread here in the forum) and the Win version took 2.25min whereas the Mac version in Rosetta took 5.30min. I do a lot of imaging work and the new glossy display is able to be calibrated to a DeltaE of 0,40 , that´s amazing for a notebook. I made several ICC´s with D50,55 and65 for Win and OSX and compared them, they are nearly identical, so I can use the different OS´s seamlessly. Many of my language tools (lingvo11) run only in Windows, some other progs (Aperture) run only in OSX -so I find both extremely valuable. I do support for both platforms and now I need only one machine to take with me - THANK YOU APPLE !

I use windows through Parallels about 5-6 times a week.

Quicken
QuickBooks
Mortgage Software

I would switch the first two to Mac version if there were good options for indepth usage. The last one will likely not go to Mac until the Mac usage by general population increases dramatically.

I also use it for MSN Paint sometimes if i want to edit something as sometimes i find it easier to use that than Preview.

I like MS Paint, Apple should make a similar application for the Mac (or someone else should, i know that sounds cheeky but my programming certainly isn't up to it ;) ).
