I have a ton of Apple products (iPhone 3,4,5,6, iPad Mini, Pro, Mac Pro, MacBook, AppleTV 2 & 4, Airport, etc.)

As a developer i fell in love with Apple over a decade ago and never regret it. Although the majority was playing with their Windows computers and called me crazy, now i see them everywhere :)

I'm still very happy and most days it puts a smile on my face being able to use it. However, i do feel that Apple is mainly focused on the US, the rest are "2nd hand customers". Every keynote (i have seen them all) i see nice features, later to be disappointed that we (im european) are not getting it. It takes ages before we get access to the new stuff and by the time it comes, h/w is out-dated. I really hope Apple will level their playing field, its simply unfair (we pay same or more!).

I understand (i'm a developer) that you can't roll out everything world-wide. But its insane that people buy a new iPhone with the hope they can use the wireless payment yet to find out that it takes another 2 or 3 generations before its finally enabled. Im paying wireless with my VISA for 2 years, yet i can't pay with my iPhone. Why is that?

Just a few examples.
  • iPhone 5S & 6
    • Apple Pay, introduced years ago, still i can't pay with. Even with my iPhone 6
    • Cinema lookup, nope
    • Sport (scores) lookup , nope
    • Public Transportation, none
  • AppleTV 4
    • SIRI doesn't work (aaarg we are still typing!)
    • No categories, well 3 (duh!)
    • Example: HBO GO not available (not Apple's fault, but still grr!)
  • Apple Watch
    • We get the annoying app you can't remove (fixed in iOS 10). Now the watch is finally (few months back) available. But it feels like second hand, we expect Apple Watch 2 in the coming months, why even bother buy one now?
  • Mac Pro
    • We waited a year before it became available. I got on, and i love it.
  • OSX
    • Spotlight "smart search"
      • nothing cant even fetch the weather
      • can't set my home currency

These are just a few that come to mind, there are many more of these. Its just annoying that with a big show they take the center stage on keynotes, but its just the US and a few other countries. The rest can wait, and wait, wait a bit more, then wait and maybe just maybe, we get it. But by the time we finally have it it feels secondhand.

Despite being exasperated with Apple as a company right now, I do love their hardware. I've said it a number of times but my MacBook Air is one of the best computers I've ever owned. It punches WELL above it's weight in terms of overall performance (I use it as a desktop most of the time!) and it's been rock solid reliable - I guess I never needed that three year Apple Care!

My iPhone too has been superb. I took an iPhone hiatus after the 3GS and spent some time with Android - which I really liked. But coming back to iPhone was a decision I don't regret. Not sure I could stomach buying one new (mine was preowned) as they are too expensive - but they're just excellent phones.

My Mac Mini is a work machine - it's not a bad workhorse, and honestly for what it cost I could have got a Windows desktop which would smash it to pieces, but I wanted a Mac, and I like the very small footprint so.. definitely a bit more lukewarm about it than I am my Air though.

So overall - pretty happy Apple customer.

2010 MBP - Pretty good, but problem with a graphic chip defect that causes photoshop crashes. definitely starting to show age, not sure what i'd replace it with tho. 3/5
iphone 5s - I remember the hype about the 64 bit chip making it future proof...well, ram is definitely an issue with reloading and slowness, amid other problems. 2/5
apple watch - aside from 3rd party apps not working, its decent as a watch and health watch. messaging is awful on it though. 3/5
apple tv 3rd gen - lack of apps, but overall great streaming device with netflix, itunes movies, youtube and a couple of the others have decent content. 4/5.

I'm very satisfied. Especially since I've got more Apple products, because they work together so great. I've got a 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display from 2015, iPhone 6s, Apple Watch Sport and Apple TV. Before I had the Apple Watch and MacBook, I was satisfied already. But it has gotten better having those two other ones as well.

For example, often I find myself wanting to watch a video from YouTube on my TV. AirPlay makes this happen without a problem. Of course I could use the app on the Apple TV for that, but when I'm at the website already it goes faster using AirPlay. Continuity is great as well. I can literally start something on one device and continue on the other. With macOS Sierra Universal Clipboard makes it so easy to copy and paste something between my devices. And by the way, despite many people not using it at all, I use Siri pretty often. Although, when I'm at my Mac, I can simply press Cmd+Spacebar to start Spotlight and type something I want to know. But when I'm only using my Apple Watch or iPhone, I do use Siri for setting simple reminders, a timer etc. And with iOS 10, I'll be sending WhatsApp messages using Siri.

And iOS 10 and watchOS 3 make my iPhone and Apple Watch even better in terms of performance and of course features. So it'll make me even more excited about my devices in general.

There's a ton of other features I love about my devices, but that list is pretty long. And I think the text above does give an idea of it. :)

Late 2013 rMBP 13" - 85% satisfied. All gripes are due to how buggy OSX has become. On Mavericks, satisfaction was 100%

iPad Air 2 - 75% - I love my iPad Air 2. I use it a lot, but again, all gripes are due to how buggy iOS has become and how incredibly frustrating doing simple tasks can be - e.g. Handling text.

iPhone 6S - 50% - The battery life is awful. It's too slippery and delicate to hold. It's annoying that you can't use it properly one handed. The power and volume up buttons always getting hit by accident. Then you have iOS which has become a buggy unreliable mess - anything to do with the Cloud is a nightmare, especially Apple Music and Photos. With all that said, I aim to use it until it dies, because I'm done with "upgrading" every 1-2 years. I miss my iPhone 5 running iOS6.

Satisfaction has definitely been on a consistent decline since Yosemite/iOS 7. Prior to that, I was 100% satisfied and loved all my Apple products. They truly "just worked" - the reliability, ease of use, and excellent design were all second to none.

It just works... after 100 person hours of work. Doesn't matter if it's a new setup or upgrade, I left Microsoft Windows because of that. And Siri is becoming useless, I've had to disable it more than once. I admit that I'm a tough customer, but Apple keeps creating problems, fixing them and then creating other problems, not so much with OSX/macOS but iOS since the iPad and iOS7 has been short-sighted mistakes that customers have to fix.
Amen to that. All the problems seem to have started after iOS came into the mix. For every convenience it purports to yield, the desire for partial convergence seems to create an equal number of problems. An endless stream of conflicts and subsequent patches. The price we have to pay for convenience, I suppose.

For me it's....

MacBook Pro 15" retina - very satisfied I would say about 95%. Easily the best laptop I've owned and my first Mac.

iPad Air 2 - very satisfied. I do wish it could do more. I would say about 90%.

Apple TV 4 - happy with it but wish it had more apps. About 85%.

iPhone 6 Plus - the least satisfied out of all my Apple products I've owned and currently own. I guess I'm always comparing it to android phones and how limited it is and how it needs to catch up. I would say about 75%.

I have to change my post where I rated my satisfaction with my iPhone 6 Plus at about 75%. I tried the note 7 for a few days and now I really appreciate owning an iPhone. So I would say now I'm about 85% satisfied with my iPhone 6 Plus.

I'm very happy with all my Apple products. (iPhone 6 Plus, iWatch, iPad Pro and Macbook Pro) I've only had 2 problems since I've used Apple products and they both got resolved very easily. (I've used Apple products since 2008)

I'm now waiting for the iPhone 7 Plus and iWatch 2. I'm pretty sure they won't disappoint me. :)

West Cost A Lot
I have owned Apple made products all the way back to a Macintosh Classic and the iPod (second generation). I have been satisfied with all the devices with the exception of a MacBook Pro 15" that had a defective graphics chip that was covered by manufacturer's warranty.

My only dissatisfaction is with the Apple top level executives that have parked the corporate profits overseas since they don't want to pay taxes on them. Of course those top level executives still get bonuses based on those profits and those same executives receive massive benefits from living in the United States and the many services provided to its residences including medical research (NIH) that protects their families.

The one and only item of Apple hardware that I owned was gifted to me: a refurbished first generation iPhone.

For as long as I used that iPhone, I was extremely satisfied.

I wanted more from the OS e.g. support for CalDAV and CardDAV, but I could not justifiably complain about the software limitations that were associated with first generation hardware.

iPhone 6 - 9/10. Big screen, great camera, good battery life. It still runs like new and offers all the performance I need in a phone. Hell, I even use iMovie sometimes on the go and it works really well. If it would have had a Full-HD display and power button on top, then it would have been a 10/10. I received a 6S from work and actually prefer my 6. Mostly because it's thinner and lighter.

iPad Air 2 - 10/10. Absolutely fantastic tablet. Had a first gen Mini as well as a first gen Air, none of them were really that great. The Mini had a bad non-retina display and was too small in some regards. The Air had a good resolution display but lagged a lot. It was also noticeably heavier than the Mini. The Air 2 has amazing performance, while being incredibly thin and light. I hardly use my laptop anymore.

iMac 27" - 9/10. Would have been a 10/10 if I would have had an SSD in it. I might need to do something about this some time. Otherwise great performance and a very nice screen.

rMBP 13" - 8/10. Great display, SSD, very fast - however, I still think the UI can be a bit laggy at times (late 2013 model) on the Retina screen. Also I cannot stand how the computer bogs down completely when the battery reaches below 10 %.

...Now as for the Photos app.. 1/10.

Photos app.. 1/10.

Without wishing to sidetrack things – there are probably umpteen topics about Photos – I read a few reports about loss of functionality, compared with earlier applications by Apple. I don't doubt those losses of functionality, I'm curious about something quite different:
  • would you describe Photos as in any way sloppy?
Sloppy as in, the modern adjective Disk Utility sloppy (example 1; example 2) …
