Problem is that water got through the top of the screen without me knowing it while using their little black lightly damp rag and now I have dried mineralized marks all across the top that you can only see with a bright light when the screen is black. Kind of annoying... I also don't think the black border was a wise choice because there is quite a bit of glare. Other than that I love my iMac.

Well if it continues to annoy you there's an easy solution. You can remove the glass using any common suction cup and clean the other side of the glass. I do recommend to be in the cleanest atmosphere with the least amount of dust so dust won't end up underneath the glass when you put it back on.

I was under the impression that it would require quite the suction to remove the glass. I'll try it when I have a little time to fiddle around with the machine.
Just a little bit of distilled water works perfectly. If you have an empty spray bottle, just fill it with store bought distilled water and spray a clean lint-free cloth. Perfection
Agree! Distilled water works perfectly. I useally put just a drop of vinegar in the spray bottle with distilled water to clean glass or any surface.
I tend to stay away from cleaners like Windex as they contain harmful chemicals. There are so many DIY cleaners that are way cost next to nothing and just as effective and does not harm the environment.
