Thanks MBHockey

this will clear the search history:

1) go to settings --> safari
2) change your search engine (switch from google to yahoo! Or vice versa)
3) tap home button
4) tap safari
5) go to settings --> safari
6) tap the following sequentially: Clear history, clear cookies, clear cache
7) change your search engine back to what it was originally
8) tap home button
9) launch safari and verify search history is gone

this info was very helpful.
Cheers !!!:)

Still can't delete bing search history - Iphone

These posts seem to mix platforms. On my IPhone there is no access to the Search History or anything else at the bottom of the search screen. It only shows the drop down with the previous history ... still there after trying ALL of the things provided in this string of posts that are availble on my IPhone. Can someone tell me how to clear the Bing searches on an IPhone? I have cleared the history in Bing "settings" and gone through the steps for doing it through Safari, switching back and forth several times between Bing and Google, but the Bing search history still appears in the drop down when I start typing letters that would be included in the previous searches that were supposed to have been deleted. Norhing works. Bing seems to just ignore my history "clear" efforts.

Won't just turning private browsing do it? I haven't used it, but isn't that what it's for?

Using the clear history doesn't work

Maliu, thanks for the reply but it DOES NOT work and that's what is frustrating. Plus, the other posts seem to be talking about an IPod rather than an IPhone because they talk about an access to search history that is supposed to appear at the bottom of the search screen when you have already started typing in the search field. The IPhone does not provide any such button on that screen.

I have tried all of the posted recommendations on clearing the history from Safari and from Bing itself using the "Settings" > "Clear History" buttons on Bing ... but the previous history still appears whenever I start typing a new search with letters that are the same as the old searches that were supposed to be deleted. It is very disappointing that after several days having this post up on the forum I have received no answers to the problem. Again, thanks for your reply. At least someone is looking at the posts. Still some hope?

Ooh I see what you are talking about now. Search not history. That's because it looks for suggested websites. Unless someone is searching for the same site you don't want them to see its irrelevant. History is the only thing that shows where you've been. Just turn on private browsing and stop worrying.

----------

Oh and clear history.

Hello , my name is Zoojao... I would like to help anyone with my knowledge to delete your private history and bookmarks on iOS7 here the steps... ((Go settings, General, Usage, Safari if doesn't show click show all apps scroll down tap Safari, on the upper corner tap Edit tap the red mark on history and delete)). For further info of any question contact me at my email " lil_romio_s@hotmail.com"

Open Safari
Tap teh Bookmarks icon (looks like an open book just to the right of the Address field
Tap the Booksmarks icon in the top menu of the pop up
If you are not at the top level of bookmarks, navigate back to it
Tap History
Tap Clear (lower right of the pop up).
Note: this will clear history on Safari, but will not prevent your selected search engine from showing suggested pages.

This is other way on how to erase browser cache or cookies history.
