I think it is worth noting that a 2017 MacBook Air, shares model identifier with MBAir 2015 (MacBookAir7,2), and, in fact, will install and boot Yosemite natively. One of those oddballs in the Mac world, which shares logic board with the 2015 MBAir. Yes, the 2017 shipped originally with Sierra. I have three boot partitions on my 2017, and easily boots to either Yosemite, High Sierra, or (why stop at Monterey when there's OCLP? ) Sonoma. It's my "play-around" Mac, but I'm waiting for a little more confidence before I update to Sequioa.
