Thanks, the Lockdown app is pretty cool and can lock lots of apps, too bad it doesn't ask for a password when placing or receiving a call but only when opening the "phone" icon. Wow, i can't believe that there isn't an app that simply asks for a password when someone is trying to make a call!

I'm not sure why, but this has never been a part of iPhone culture.

I remember way back when, we were discussing that it was terrible that there was no setting on the iPhone that would allow you to restrict calls to the Contact List, for either or both incoming and/or outgoing.

Steve Jobs was around back then and he was amazed, his response sounding something like, "Why the hell wouldn't you want to answer your phone?"

It's only very recently that they've caught on that most of the world probably wants the availability, even if they wouldn't use the restrictions every day.

hi

their is one app, Call Guard but i did not try it.

It doesn't work very well. :)

When I jailbreak, it's usually just to get iBlacklist on my iPhone. It does exactly what it needs to do.

iOS 7's DND functionality would do it for most of us. You can just leave DND turned on and then allow Contacts or Favorites.

That's not what the original poster was after, of course.

Actually, I have a requirement just like Marioletto.

The reason I bought the iPhone was specifically so that I could share it with my 3-year old son to keep him occupied during busy times (driving, shopping, etc). He knows how to use the apps brilliantly, and itunes have great educational apps for kids! I use the Restrictions section to prevent him from unnecessarily using 3G/Edge (and getting Data charged for it!). But I can't prevent him from making accidental calls (luckily the few times he's accidentally made a call was to my husband, and not a client!)

So if anyone is still following this and has perhaps found a solution, please do share. Thanks!
